All star music room question

I booked a standard room for my upcoming trip but I'm wandering if I should switch to preferred. Can I make this change when I check in or should I call in advance?

Is it common for your room not to be ready when you arrive around 1pm? Our flight lands at 11am

We had a standard room .... In country fair ..... It was nice & quiet ... A bit of a hike but still preferred it rather than being close to melody hall ....

We landed at 11am as well & our room was ready when we arrived. Not sure if that is always the case .....

If a preferred is available at check-in for your entire stay, you can upgrade and pay the diff, however if that is what you really want, I would book it in advance. There are limited preferred rooms, and I believe they do sell out. If rooms are ready when you arrive, you may be able to check in early - depends on your dates, how booked the resort is, etc. Best of luck.

To me its not worth the extra money, we got assigned to broadway in 2009 a d I was disappointed at first but after realizing the walk to melody hall was that far I fell invite with it and now ASMu is the only value I'll stay at!

I also ADORE ASMusic! It is my favorite value as well!

If you really want a preferred room, I would call in advance.

Rooms may or may not be ready that early. If it isn't, bell services will hold your luggage for you!

Preferred was very much worth if for us! We had a room that overlooked the trees and parking lot not the pool. But honestly never had an issue with noise at all. It was such a pleasure to simply fall into the bus stop in the morning and not have an additional hike back to the room at night. It really depends upon the people going. I am not a spring chicken and pooh sized. However my nieces were 5 and 9 and they could have done it no problem. Our friends had to juggle a stroller and other friends had medical issues and yet another had a scooter. I strongly suggest the preferred location for ASMU it is a big resort.

On a side note. We are staying at ASMu in a family suite this August. I can't decided if we should request the Calypso building or the Jazz building or does it really make a difference. We are 5 , Me, DH, DS's (19,17,15), no medical issues etc. Any advice?

i stayed in Rock 2 years ago. It was a hike to the bus & to get a coke. I get to do my advance check in on Sunday, i'm going to request Jazz.

Stayed in Jazz, May 2009. It was close enough you didnt feel like a hike to get a drink, but far away enough from the main pool it was quiet. Actually we were right between the guitar and piano pools.

Thanks for the advice. I was leaning towards Jazz because I heard it was quieter than Calypso. Glad to hear its not a long walk.
