All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Hi all: we went to WDW in Oct. Stayed at the Pop, loved it there. We are going bace in April for my grandaughter's 5th birthday and am thinking about staying at ASMU. I am really enjoying the pictures of the resort, more more please, and like all the great info. you all are posting. It will help make my choice easier. Thanks again and keep all the info coming.:yay:

Thanks to all who have shared their great pictures! :)

I tried to book ASMU for the week before easter but it was already full. The other values were not. I know the rooms have been remolded, but I was surprised it was sold out already. They only had family suites available.

Does ASMu bus stop have a queue like POP or do you have to fight your way onto the buses. We are going during Spring Break. Thanks

No need to your way onto the buses at ASMU. THey have the line queues for the buses like Pop has.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

We returned from 10 days/ 9 nights at ASMu Jazz section. It was OK, but we like POP better :rolleyes1 Here's the pics I took of our room:

We did have some Disney magic thanks to Randy (front desk supervisor)! I'll edit w/ a link soon!

Wonderful pictures, Lisa!! I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

It's funny--from what I've read some of the rooms at ASMu have a privacy curtain and others do not.

Thanks for the pictures! We'll be there next week and I cannot wait!:cool1:

Thanks minnie :goodvibes . I just switch from POP to ASMU for DD's Bday trip, she will be turning 8 in March. Since it's and extra trip this year it has to be a value resort and after readng your thread I think it will be better for us. We are used to deluxe, so we need a quiter resort than Pop.

Was wondering if anyone had an update on the programming by the pool at ASMusic. Trying to decide btwn. POP & Music and the programming at Music could be the deal-breaker for us. Think DD8 would love the movies, dance parties, etc. We're going next Sept. Anyone heard anything? Based on what I previously saw in this thread, I sent an email to the address giving pos. feedback. Thanks.

We are preparing to leave to head to VA to see DH's family for Christmas and we'll leave from there to head to ASMu on the 1st. Forgive me for asking questions that are probably asnwered in this thread but I'm so short on time-- planning two different vacations in different regions back to back that will last 22 days. Between that and the normal Christmas stress and rush, I am a mess!

Please forgive me (I'm doing what I hate others to do :rotfl2: )

All of the rooms have been refurbished, right?

Besides personal taste, is there any reason to request either Country or Broadway more than the other? (We're staying standard and do not like the Jazz or Rock themes in pics)

Is there an iron?

I did read that there were hair dryers-- are they in every section?

Is there a surface to put the TV on or are you guys just setting it straight on the floor? Are you putting anything down for ventilation?

Thanks SOO much!

Yes they have, however some sections do not have that privacy curtain (see above pics) between the bedroom area and sink/bathroom area. I stayed in Broadway the week of Dec 8-15th and it did not have that curtain. Neither did the Country Fair section.

We also did not book a preferred room and was placed in Broadway. I too was nervous about being placed in a "far off" room because some of the feedback on these threads talked about the far hike to the food court and bus stop. I couldn't have been more pleased about staying in Broadway! Depends on personal preference but Jazz and Calypso can be quite busy and noisy because there are a lot of fun activites going on by the main Guitar pool. The walk is only about 3-4 minutes from Broadway to the main pool, and about 5 minutes to the front bus stop.

Is there an iron?

Yes in the closet/sink area

Yes there is!

The TV sits inside an entertainment unit, and there are 3 drawers below it. It also has 2 deep open shelves beside the TV unit, along with one closed door cabinet below it.

Thanks SOO much!

Have an awesome time! We really enjoyed it and were pleasantly surprised at how very nice the resort was!

I can't believe I asked where to put the TV. I must really be losing it!! I MEANT to ask where people are putting the refrigerator since there is no low dresser surface for it.

You guys must have thought I was nuts :lmao:

Thanks, bellebeauty2! :thumbsup2 Your info is helpful!

We put our fridge on the floor on the wall between the window and the little table and chairs. Just enough room for it. We did have to be careful because one of the screws on the bottom of the fridge stuck out a little so it wanted to catch on the carpet when we set the fridge down, but that was probably just our fridge :rolleyes1

we had a fridge supplied to us by the hotel - they put the fridge in exactly that spot - on the floor between the window and the little table/chairs..

by the way, we were in the jazz building and we did have the privacy curtain..
i very much liked having it...

I called to make my final room requests and was told there are no connecting rooms. I read a review on allearsnet from December that said they had connecting rooms in the jazz building. Anyone have more info? TIA!

There are definitely connecting rooms in the Jazz building - we have stayed in them twice, on different floors. I believe they are in every building.

Perhaps they mean that there are no connecting rooms available?:confused3
