Hello, I stayed at the All Star Music with my sister-in-law, niece and my 4 year old. I was very upset with the service and the rooms. My bed was not changed for a few days, the bathroom wasn't CLEANED and nor did they put any toilet paper on the roll. I also requested extra towels on three separate occassions and never received them. So we decided to just take them from the cleaning carts that were left in the hall way. Not one person I met spoke English, which made things a little more difficult as well. (NO offense.)
When I complained about the bed, I was told that someone would come up and change the linens, at 9:00 pm. I don't think so, this should have been done already not this late in the evening.
Also, when I went to complain again about our bed, they said, well the only thing we can do is have someone come up and change the linens. HELLO, I'm leaving in the morning. Also, they gave me a payout of $25.00, I think to keep my mouth quiet. Which I'm not. They have lost my serve and I certainly will not be sending friends or family to the that. Thanks for listening! me :O)

as far as the bed is concerned, it is standard practice in most hotels to only change the sheets every third day or so and between guests of course

with the cleanliness or the toilet paper......I do know that the linen is not changed for three days I believe......unless there is a problem .....we always did get our towels from the carts that they left on different floors......worked okey for us......I am sorry for your unhappiness with the hotel

Hello dcgrumpy, I personally think that's gross. I don't know if your in that business. But that just doesn't cut it. I have family that works in the resorts and have stayed in several other resorts in Disney, and the beds are changed EVERY day.
Thanks for your response.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at ASMu. I've stayed there myself and though we had a few minor problems, nothing as bad as what you described.

And who didn't speak English..the MouseKeeping staff? I hate to say it, but HELLO! It's Florida people! Non-English speaking hispanic/latino laborers are plentiful and cheap.

Hope you have a better experience next time at one of the other resorts. :) Have a nice day.

TOV

I am sorry about your stay.

I have never stayed in a Disney Resort that changed the sheets before 3 days.

Lori

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at the hotel, but do you change your sheets at home EVERY DAY?

I think when you're staying in a resort or hotel for several days, most places (if not all) change the sheets only every 3 days. I don't see anything wrong with that. But then, I only change my sheets at home once a week. :)

nO i'm not in that business, i was just pointing out what the norm is in most hotels not just Disney. All Disney resorts have the same policy, maybe you just didn't realize it at other resorts. And why is it gross, do you change your sheets at home every day?

including the Dolphin and Swan........they have a little paper on the table that explains the reasoning behind not doing the linen changing every day......unless like I stated a problem with kids or food dropped on the sheets......they do make the beds up and smooth out the sheets....much like we would do at home....We have stayed at Values ...moderates and also deluxe and this is the procedure....

If I am not mistaken, there is some law that states due to the serious water shortage, they will not change your sheets everyday unless you specifically request it. I remember seeing the sign in my room at ASMO the three times I stayed there. ;)

We stayed at ASMu in Sept. 2000. We had a few minor glitches, but we decided we were at Disney, so we could live with those glitches.:) They changed our beds every day though. It seems like we had to put the little thing on the door to request housekeeping to come by though.

This has been the standard procedure for several years at pretty much every hotel I've stayed at, including those that aren't Disney. Unless you specifically request it or there is a problem, towels and sheets aren't changed except every 3 days and between guests, exactly for the reason Pete's Mom mentioned.

We did have spilled juice on the pillow case and sheets, but I guess they just missed that. Anyway...
Thanks to those who have made comments. Seeing as everyone has a diffenent perspective on keeping things cleaned. I will remember these key points on my next visit to a different resort.
Have a great day all!! :O)

It is a shame that you did not enjoy your stay. You really should have reported the juice on the sheets. I don't think that I have ever stayed in any hotel where they changed the sheets everyday unless requested. We only get them changed once a week in our DVC and our Vistana timeshare. We have traded and it is the same at other resorts. We have also stayed at many hotels/motels over the years and it is usually every 3 days.

Then I'd suggest you stay at the GF next time, they change the sheets every day there. If you spilled juice on the pillow you should have just taken off the pillow case and I'm sure they would have gotten you a new one. Either they didn't notice or they didn't care to notice, either way I wouldn't have left a juice filled pillowcase sitting on my bed.

Actually what I enjoyed about All Star Music that I do NOT get at the Boardwalk is the cleaning and changing of linens and towels. You have to stay a week before you get any service at the DVC resorts. My bathroom got messed up my last trip and I asked about cleaning and they told me it would cost and extra $25 to get any cleaning before a week.

Sorry things didn't work out for you, but in both my stays at ASMu and ASMo, there was a little note in the room that said that due to water/soap costs the sheets would not be changed everyday, unless a special request was made. Personally, it doesn't bother me, as I'm pretty sure nobody is sleeping (or doing other things  ) in my bed during my stay. I only change my sheets at home once a week, so I don't expect anymore than that on vacation. Actually, by the time I hit the bed after a day of touring the World, I don't think I really CARE about the sheets - I just want to sleep.

Please don't let your experience sour you on WDW. Despite the language barriers, I have always been able to communicate with our Mousekeepers, and they've always been more than accomodating.

Okay, the linen issue has been discussed, but what about the bathroom not being cleaned and no toilet paper? I remember when I stayed there I was given the option of the sheets but my bathroom was cleaned... at least after a few calls...

I had a HORRENDOUS stay at the ASMu and Disney was nice enough to call me and send my son an "autographed" picture of Goofy but I would never stay there again.
