All Star Music - Bus issues in the summer months?

We are planning a 1 week trip for June 2020. Looking to book at All-Stars to save money as we plan to be in the parks as much as possible. Wanted to book at All-Star Movies just for the preferred theming but travel agent reminded me that Movies is always exempt from discount offers; so we're looking to book at ASMusic instead. I've read mixed reviews about the All Stars, particularly relating to the bus situation. During the SUMMER (peak crowd) months, do All Stars still share buses? Are they so crowded that you have to wait for a 2nd bus? What has been your experience at All Star Music during summer months? Thanks for any info!

This bus sharing myth has a mind of it's own. The buses share occasionally at low crowd parts of the day like early in the morning(like the ppo breakfast crowd), midday when people aren't going back and forth, and really late at night. However, even when the buses are not sharing, they can be exceedingly crowded and waiting through several buses is not uncommon. However, the Allstars work well for us. We have two past stays at Sports, one at Movies, and are looking forward to our first stay at Music in December. Another thing to consider is that Musoc has started their renovation to be like Movies so maybe you can get a new room depending on when your trip is.

Thank you! That's a good reminder about the renovations. Wondering if Music will have their renovations completed by June 2020?? I've tried to search everywhere for that answer, but haven't found it yet. Tempted to just book Movies for the refurbished rooms (queen beds are preferable to the adults in our group) and not worry about the potential discount at Music (since there's no way to know if it will even happen)...but if Music will have refurb rooms available then maybe that's the best way to go.

It is impossible to know if they will be done by then. Based on Movies refurb, I doubt it. For reference, I believe that Movies was started in the spring of 2018 and they are just finishing it up now. There is a thread about the renovations with the most up to date info that is regularly updated. There will be rooms done for sure and you can request one, but for sure no guarantees of course.

What type of discount were you hoping to get? Movies might be excluded from free dining, but it definitely is not always excluded from room discounts because we used a room discount there earlier this year.

We stayed at Movies last week of August (had a room discount). It was a better deal for us (Canadian discount tickets). We were in Mighty Ducks section of Movies and close to Music. We often took the Music buses. The only times we had problems with the buses was going to and from the water parks. We sometimes shared on the way back to the resort mid-day and would get off at Music. Movies is the last stop. The renovated rooms are really nice, the same as POP but less expensive :) Not sure how far along Music will be by next summer.

You could compare to the time lines for Movies which you can find here https://www.disboards.com/threads/all-star-movies-renovations.3670184/

It looks like 30 to 93 days per building, probably average 50? Any way. Just to give an idea.

Just a room discount. Our travel agent had said they were usually excluded, but I think she must have assumed we were hoping for free dining. We just want quick service so a room discount would be fine! I think we're going to lean toward movies. Thx for the info!

I'm going to vote a no to the renovations being done by June. Movies took over a year and it's still not complete. I would guess it'll be at least until the end of the 2020 before it's done, if not into 2021.

It was generally 40-50. Disney took an extended break around the time they announced that SWGE would be opening several months early, and ending around the time principal construction ended at SWGE. Read into that what you will, but I’ll bet Music will go faster than Movies did, and it will be at the very least mostly done by June.
