:D I am soooo excited!!!!!! After thinking we could NOT go to Disney this spring and being majorly bummed, we are going!!!! YIPPY SKIPPY! lol However, the only thing left is All Star Movies. We stayed at the ASMu several years ago, and while it was nice then, our kids have grown quite a bit. (don't you HATE when that happens??!!!:o Since then, we've stayed at the Port Orleans, Dixie Landings (when it still was) CRB and Contemporary.

Anyway, can someone please recommend which building at AS movies would be best to request? We would like to be as close to the bus stop and food court as possible. Also, is it still necessary to fax our request, or do you think a phone call will work at this time of year?

Any other tips or hints regarding this resort would be greatly appreciated! THANKS SO MUCH!!!:pinkbounc

The Toy Story buildings are my favorites. They are fairly close to the Food Court and Bus Stops. I like All Star Movies better than Music. That is just my preference. Did you book a preferred or non-preferred room? If you have preferred you should be in one of the Fantasia buildings.

They have wonderful prime rib and mashed potatoes also! :D

We stayed at ASMo just last month and LOVED it!! We requested a preferred building and were in Fantasia 8, 3rd floor, room 8958. We had a pool view room, it was great!! It is a very short walk to food court, laundry, etc. We really enjoyed our stay, and would have no problem staying at that resort again!!

Thank you for responding! I appreciate both of your replies! But I'm confused --- what is a preferred room? Does that have something to do with the Disney Club? We used to belong to that, but haven't in a few years....

Chell --why did you like Movies more than Music? Music was spread out considerably, altho I requested and got a room close to the food court.

Aide4 - thanks for the specific info. I found a map of the resort and it looks liike you had a great room location! By any chance do you know this, if I wanted to stay as close to the pool as possible, in what direction do the room numbers go from your room towards the pool? I will definitly request one of those OR the Toy Story buildings.

Again, thank you very much! Any other tips or hints.....please let me know! I cannot WAIT to get there!!!!!!!1

mafibisha- The preferred rooms cost an extra $10 a night and at ASMo, they are located in the Fantasia buildings. I personally don't think that they would be worth the extra money. I would request the Toy Story building. IMHO, it has the best theming, and is very close to the food court, pool, and transportation. Also, Dalmatians is about the same distance away from the pool, food court and transportation. I think that these two buildings have just as much to offer as the Fantasia buildings, plus they will be quieter because they won't be overlooking a pool and they don't cost and extra $10 a night. Use that money to go to a nice meal or something in the parks!!!

Thanks, Puffkin, I agree! Which of the two toy story buildings would you recommend, buzz or woody? And can you possibly give me specific room numbers, that would be closer to the pool and food court?

Thanks sooo very much, i really appreciate it!!!!

We stayed in the Buzz building and loved it! By going around the building through "Andy's room" we were a short walk from the pool and food court, and by walking around the other side of the building we were very close to the bus stop!

I faxed the hotel about 5 days before our arrival date and asked for Toy Story, first floor, close to the bus stops. I got everything I asked for!

Have fun!!!

mafibisha-

We stayed on the second floor of the Buzz building in room #803. Our room overlooked the courtyard and we had a great view of Woody. I am not sure what the room numbers are for the section of the building that is closest to the food court, but I would fax them your request about five days before you arrive. We did this and got exactly what we asked for. BTW, the Buzz building is slightly closer to the transportation, but you can't go wrong with either one.

I like the atmosphere better. Maybe we were just there at a bad time, I'm not sure. When I made my reservations they did not guarantee me a non-smoking room, they didn't let me know it was possible. When we checked in we got a smoking room. I was rather upset. Then next morning when I went to complain they just blew me off and wouldn't listen to me. I wasn't in the mood to stand there for an hour or so waiting for someone who was willing to listen to me. The food court did not have some of the same selections that I love from the ASMo. We also requested a room close to the food court and did not get it. Actually we could not have gotten much farther from it. I know this can happen at any of the resorts. But it just seems that the CM's we dealt with were not as friendly as we had expected.

We stayed at the Movies last September and LOVED it!!!! We were in the 2nd Buzz building, which was close to the foodcourt, pool and busses, but not too close. We were very close to the parking lot as well, which made bringing heavy, sleeping kids back to the room easier. Even though we faced Andy's room, it was very quiet. Housekeeping was great. The room was cleaned before noon each day. Also, the food in the foodcourt was very good. We had lunch or dinner there several times through the trip. I had a ressie for my upcoming trip to WDW at the Music, since the Movies was sold out under the AP rate. Called today and HOORAY!!!! The Movies was available at the AP rate!!!! YEA!!!!!

We've stayed at the Movies twice now and we also LOVE this hotel!!! The theming is so neat!
On our first stay, we had asked for Toy Story but got Love Bug. Love Bug was a great building - very quiet and still just a short walk to the food court/bus stop. This past Nov/Dec, we got Dalmations and again, we loved our area! Very quiet and a short walk to food court/bus stop. I don't think it would be worth an extra $10 per night to be in Fantasia - the Movies really aren't all that spread out and I didn't find it that much of a walk.

Two weeks ago we stayed at the AS Movies and got a far corner Mighty Ducks room on the second floor. It was a last second reservation so we took whatever we could get. It was a gazillion miles from the main building, but a really nice CM told us that if we walked to the Music building, which was just about 50 yards away, we could catch the bus there.

It worked out really well for us, so if you do happen to get an out of the way room, there are little tricks like that to fall back on.

We were there last month during presidents week and we stayed in Toy Story bldg. We had room #9712. It was a ground floor room ( one room off corner ). It was a great location. We were about 25 feet from a small parking lot, that always had open spots, even when we came back to the room late. Being that close to the parking lot made carrying sleeping kids to the room much easier. Also our mousekeeper, Max, was great. Every day he would do a new display in our window as well as decorate our rooms with all the kids souvenirs. Many times the kids couldn't wait to get into the room, just to see what Max did that day. The room is very close to the food court and it was close to the fantastia pool. Hopes this helps.
