I've had two All Star Movies stays recently, one the end of May, and one last week. Pop has always been my favorite value resort, but Movies is now a very close second.
1. Only had one issue with buses and that was in May. Was trying to get to Disney Springs and it was close to dinner time, around 5ish. Waited a while for a bus, and when it came, it was almost full because it was shared with All Star Music. I managed to get on, but had to stand. There were a lot of people who had to wait for another bus. One way around this is to walk to Music and get on the bus there. No other issues with buses.
2. I had refurbed rooms for both of my stays, and they were wonderful. Identical layout to the rooms at Pop. My only request for both of these stays was for a refurbished room, and even though I had booked standard, I was in preferred sections both times. In May, I was in building 4, 101 Dalmatians. The wing I was in was the only one open, the other 2 wings were still in refurb process. I felt like I was living in a construction zone, but it didn't really bother me and I didn't hear any noise. For my trip last week, I was in building 9, Toy Story. Loved the Andy's Room theme.
For a September trip, standard room, I would probably request the Mighty Ducks section. Both of those buildings were being worked on when I was there in May, so they certainly should be finished long before September. You will be super close to buses and transportation at Music, so it gives you extra options.
