Just made reservations for Sept at AsMo. Last year for our families first trip to wdw we stayed at POR and loved it. Will we be disappointed staying at AsMo after staying there? We have two children ages 10 & 5 and thought they might like the AsMo better. What do you think? Also is sept. a good month to go? How are the crowds and weather?

Thanks!

Ive posted this many times, but at the risk of repeating myself, it seems to fit this post. We stayed at DXL 2x and really liked it(obviously, since we went back the 2nd time). This past September we stayed at ASMO for the 1st time and loved it. IMO, everything met the standards of DXL, and some stuff, like theming, size, & bus service, exceeded DXL. My kids were 20 mos & 4.5yr. They much prefer the giant Buzz & Woody and the Duck Pond Rink pool over nice landscaping. The only thing I prefer at DXL was Bob the piano player in the lounge and from what Ive heard, hes gone now.
I would definitely choose ASMO over DXL in the future. The cheaper price is just a bonus.

This September probably isnt a good one to compare it to, but when we were there, it was deserted. The weather was nice too. Warm, with a couple quick downpours and one rainy morning.

Last year we booked AS sports (couldn't resist the $69 night offer) after several stays at CBR and Cont. Resort. I had the same concerns. In fact, my post was very similar to yours. Well, to make a long story short, we were very pleased with AS (we were especially pleased at saving all that $$$). Our only complaint was the long wait at the check in counter (as I've posted before only 2-3 CM's assisting guests). Other than that, every thing was great. The room was plenty big for our family of 3 and the mousekeeping was as good, if not better, than the other resorts I've stayed. I sure did miss the monorail to MK, but I have to concur with other posters that the AS bus system is very efficient and quick.

As far as weather is concerned, I've taken 2 Sept. trips and both have been warm and humid, like the typical Florida summer. Crowds are a little lighter than the summer months.

Have a terrific trip.

We just returned 2/15 - 2/25 at ASM. We've stayed there 3x's as well as comtemporary, and off-site. We've already booked next year at ASM. It's as good as the other hotels, when it come to disney quality. There were so many other children, that our kids,9 & 7, made new friends each time they went swimming. We tried for a room in fantastia bldg. (it's closest to the main pool), but we weren't able to get one. We got Toy Story #9712. I would ask for that room again. It was a ground floor room right next to the playground and about 25 feet from a smaller parking lot, ( which always had plenty of open spots ) so it made it that much easier carrying the kids to the room after a long day and night out.

I had the same question! We stayed at POFQ in July and I absolutelty fell in love! We hope to go back in Oct. but DH refuses to stay any where but AS, just because of the price. I am planning for ASM for my son. I think he will love it but I hope I won't feel disappointed.

You will enjoye the All-Star Movies. We own at the Boardwalk (DVC) and stayed at Movies for 2 quick nights after our Disney cruise for $59/nite. I was so worried that we would hate it compared to the Boardwalk, but it was actually very pleasant.

The pool was quite large and plenty of chairs were available.

The food court was a nice change since there is no "fast-food" area at B'Walk either.

Enjoy!

We just returned from staying at ASMovies a few weeks ago. We had a great time at the resort. And our 4yr old DD just loved all the themeing, the pool & the 'old' Disney movies that they show in the lobby.
