I read on another board (:guilty: ) that ASMo had changed the Dalmations and Toy Story buildings to preferred. Surely, that only leaves 2 buildings which aren't preferred. Really gutted if it's true as I just booked a night at ASMo and requested Dalmations (although I know it's not a guarantee, just a request). However, we haven't paid for a preferred room so, if this is true, we probably won't get it.

Has anyone else heard this?

I haven't stayed at ASMo since 1999, but then there were 10 buildings - 2 in each of the 5 themes.

OK, OK so I didn't word it quite right - 2 building themes that aren't preferred ie Mighty Ducks and Love Bug buildings. Even so, this now means that out of the 10 buildings at ASMo, only 4 of them are standard. Surely this is going to mean that people will be faced with a situations where, in order to stay at ASMo, they may have to pay the extra for preferred (rumoured to now be $15 extra per night)

Yes, there's a thread about this on the Resort Forum. Apparently one CM said it's an extra $12 and another one said it's an extra $15.

It seems a bit unfair to me that WDW are making 3 of the 5 different areas "preferred" :badpc:

Having said that, even in the "non" preferred (new style ;) ) areas, it really isn't that far to the food court, pool or bus stops. Mighty Ducks in particular is good because it has its own "quiet" (I use the term loosely ;) ) pool and it is pretty near to the bus stop & amenities at ASMu as well as ASMo. We often got off the bus at ASMu and walked through Mighty Ducks to get back to our Dalmations room :)

That seems a bit sly of them :sad2:.

I would agree with Karen's recommendation of taking the ASMu bus - it was never as busy esp at Park closing

When we arrived last year and were allocated Mighty ducks area we were at first dissapointed; However the dual location for both the bus stops was great and the car parking was good too.
We are already concerned that our travel agent for next years visit ommitted to add our preference to the booking( she hurried everything) - we would love 'Touch down' at the ASSport's( at present a none prefered room). However we are so pleased to be going back to the USA.I will ring Disney a few weeks before departure- it may be worth a try. Regards Angela. :cool1:
