All Star Movies or Port Orleans Riverside

Hi! My boyfriend & I are taking a Christmas trip Dec 8-11. I currently have us booked in a preferred room at ASM. We have stayed there many times before & like it a lot (it's our favorite of the values). However, I saw an opening for the same dates at POR for not much more. Typically upgrading us would be a no-brainer but we have never stayed at POR before and I don't have any idea what to expect. The only option available is for a standard room so I assume the walk to and from the main buildings would be even more so than if we stick to Movies. Not a deal breaker but I was wondering if there were any pros you had going for Riverside that would make you choose it instead. Thanks!

POR is DEFINITELY worth trying. It has an entirely different vibe than the values.

If not much more SWITCH! It's a very pretty resort and the walk isn't that bad at all. And the buses travel all around the resort so you don't have to go to the main buildings to catch it like ASM. Taking the boat to Disney Springs is a nice treat too.

Enjoy! Stayed there many times (was our first onsite stay in 1992) and have stayed in all the different areas and type of room. Lovely resort!

POR is my favorite moderate. If I didn't have DVC, POR would be my go-to resort.
