I have a pirate obsessed DS3. We are trying to make a final decision on a resort for mid September. He really enjoys Toy Story and doesn't know the pirate rooms are even an option, so I know he will be happy either way. He would flip over the pirate rooms, but I am torn between the two resorts. It is a significant price difference for us and our trip budget. I've seen so many negative reviews of CBR and ASMo, that it makes me even more confused! Ha! Is there anything about CBR other than the pirate decor that makes it a much better option?

Last summer we did a split stay at ASMo and CBR (preferred room rather than pirate room). My boys are 7 and 9 and they love pirates. Anyway, for the money, I think we would have been just fine staying only at ASMo. The pool at CBR was the big draw for us, and as much as we enjoyed it, we didn't take enough time away from the parks to justify the increased expense. For what it's worth, I would consider staying at a value and using some of the savings toward the pirates league at MK. Also, when your child is a little older, you may want to consider the children's daytime pirate cruise (I think the minimum age is 4). My boys did this and loved it.

Thank you. That is pretty much what I thought.

I agree with above post. If your DS is only 3 stick with ASMO. If you return when he is older try CBR in a few years. Don't believe all the negative reviews about either resort. We have been to CBR a few times & always had a great time. I have never had the chance to stay at ASMO but if I was invited tomorrow to ASMO I would not have any problems staying at ASMO:thumbsup2

We stayed at CBR a few years ago. We loved the resort but did not stay in a pirate room. I think they are quite a ways from the pool and food. I just wanted to add though, that we loved the zero depth entry in the pool. There is also a kiddie pool area with a pirate ship that's fun for little ones. We usually stay value because of cost but stay mod when we can. We stay at POP for value and love the large icons and theming. I am sure you will love wherever you decide to stay. Have fun!
