My hubby and I were at Disney last week, and stayed at the All-Star Movies. I stayed there on prior trips with the kids, but wish I would have picked something else for just the two of us. It was a last minute trip, so I felt lucky to find a room, and I even managed to get a Triple A discount, so my nightly cost was $68.98, including tax, but...
I had asked for a ground floor non-smoking room in Dalmations or Toy Story, but when we checked in, I was told those were not available, and asked if I wanted Fantasia 2000, which I guess is preferred, for no extra charge, so I said sure. Well, I really, really did NOT like the giant jack-in-the box (ugly, scary-looking to me!, I can imagine what a small child must think!) Plus, we were in a connecting room (do they ALL connect? I can't recall.) Each night, we would hear a baby crying in the connecting room, thru the door, around 2 in the morning. Looking back, maybe we shld have moved to a different room?? Little things I know, but then we visited the Wilderness Lodge and I wish we would have booked a room there! <g> I know, no comparison in cost and amenities, but just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions in case someone else traveling w/o children is trying to decide where to stay. Also, before leaving I stopped in the gift shop at All Star Sports to get something that Movies didn't have, and the hotel was *quiet*!!!! I couldn't belive it (Movies is VERY loud!) I asked the CM working there and she said that Sports and Music were at about 40% capacity the week we were there, and Movies is always almost at 100%...just something else to consider...
I know I am very lucky to have gotten a room and been able to go at all, again, I am just sharing my opinions.
