I want to book the REAS package for our cruise, now that spa prices have gone up, it's a great deal! I called All Seas Travel yesterday morning, and never heard back. Called them again this morning and again have never heard back. Has anyone else have this problem? I really would like to get this booked and it is frustrating waiting on them to call me back.

We booked through All Seas as well since the price was hundreds less than any other quote I got. But, I too have not been impressed with their follow up service. They always promise to confirm via e-mail, yet I have not once received an e-mail from them (except of course their "broadcast e-mails" that advertise specials - I get those just fine!)

Others have posted to talk to "Chuck" the owner. I have talked to Chuck myself. He was pleasant enough and did offfer good sugggestions, but he never confirmed that All Seas had made our reservation for the Radisson at the Port via e-mail as he promised. I wonder if we have a reservation or if I should just do it myself (this really is my pet peeve with travel agents in general - they are on the verge of extinction due to the internet and ease of doing everything yourself, yet they expect us to live with their little slip ups and sub par service. Now let me get off this soap box!)

Can't speak for allseas, but I did the same thing yesterday with DU. Sent an email to Tammy, and had a confirmation email back within 1/2 hour verifying my reservation, explaining the package and asking me for my choices/dates for each part of the package. Sent those back and now just waiting for the final details. Price was the same -$299

I have tried to get quotes from Allseas twice and their follow up has not been great. The first time, they had special rates posted for the 10/31 Norwegian Dawn ship. WHen I called, they told me that there was something wrong with the pricing on the website. They said they would get back to me. THe next day, the prices were increased on the website, they never got back to me.

I also called them about the CA/FL repositioning cruise. This was the day after the rates were opened up for booking. I was assured that someone would get back to me. No one did.

I find the allseastravel website good for comparing pricing for DCL for various dates. However, both times I asked for quotes, I was disappointed.

Quite a different experience with Karen from DU. She emailed me back promptly when I put in a request for a price quote. The price was well beyond what I wanted to spend, and I didn't book. BUT, the service was good. I would definitely go through DU the next time I look to book a cruise. Now if the price on the 14 day would only come down................(A girl can dream!!)

Hi Folks:

While All Seas is a competitor of Dreams, I have had the pleasure of speaking with Chuck (the owner) and they take their customer service very seriuosly. If you are having issues, please call them, but le'ts not do the 'pile on'. It really isn't fair. Like I said, he's a Dreams competitor, but I recognize good business when I see it and Chuck is a fair man who cares about his clients. Also keep in mind that just about every agency has been inundated with the West Coast cruises and Disney has been less than helpful with issues on them. None of us had ANY official information prior to the announcement on May 5th and we all had to scramble to get our houses in order to deal with the volume. Let's leave it at that for now.

Thanks,
Pete

Just had to take a minute to comment. Chuck IS a great guy, and you are one, too, for being nice enough to (rightfully) defend a competitor when you think he may be being treated unfairly. Very classy. :D

And I want to add that I am using All Seas for my Alaska summer 05 cruise and Kathy has been quite responsive; I'd say on par with DU. And I'm using DU, Merrie, for my DCL Dec 04 cruise - great service as well. Since DU doesn't do Alaska cruises, I get to choose 2 good companies and 2 good agents :D

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: I totally agree. From what I've seen and heard (including personal experience) about both Pete and Chuck, they're both great. :sunny:

YEP, Sandie from all seas has been fantastic.
I have had e-mails sent back to me within hour's of me asking a question etc.
So They get a big thumbs up from.

With all of the frenzy over the California cruising I'm sure all DCL agencies have had a problem not only getting the information from DCL but handling the glut of calls and then getting back to the people.
All Seasons have always gotten back to me.

I am quite sure that when "normalcy" returns to all of the TA's quick responses will return. There is a 1800 # for All Seasons on their site. If I feel it is important. I'll just call. Heck doesn't even cost for the phone call :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I e mailed All Seas immediately with my requests for the Florida resident rates on the 3 night when they were released. I never heard back from them and lost out on the opportunity. Oh well.

Update -

I just wanted to let you know that Chuck contacted me last night and this morning I set everything up on my ressie. I'm glad to see that they do take their customer servcie seriously and I am satisfied with them and how they handled it. I do agree with Pete about not bashing them cuz that wasn't what I wanted. I too think Pete is a class act and I thank All Seas for responding so quickly!!!:D

I don't think it is bashing All Seas, the posts simply tell of people's experience with the agency. Back in March, I booked my cruise. I asked DU and All Seas for quotes. DU sent them quickly and even sent follow-up emails. Despite two email requests for the quote, I have yet to hear from them (two months later). The bottom line is that All Seas did not earn my business.

This may sound like bashing, but quite simply thay are the facts, whether they like it or not. :D

Greysword...Well then I hoped you booked with DU.

CindyBeth...See, it was worth starting the thread, they got back to you promptly, and now your added items are on your ressie.

I have my ressie booked directly through DCL.

But am still waiting for DU to take on other cruise lines.

I agree that I don't think anything in this thread is bashing at all.

While people have had some bad experiences, other have had very GOOD experiences and have posted them here.

DU allowed a LOT to be said here after the May 5th cruise insanity (some deserved, some not) but in the end they did the best they could do for their customers that day, and its up to their customers to decide if they'll continue to use DU.

What I applaud more then anything is that they haven't censored it. DU could have very easily stopped us from seeing any of the bad things that people posted about them, but they didn't. Instead they let it sit out there and then posted about how they were making what they could right.

If anything, at least it lets everyone know what they are getting.

I have booked all but one of our DCL cruises through All Seasons. I met Chuck and his wife on the second Western sailing of the Magic. He made it a point to come to our table at dinner to say hello. They really are good people.

Obviously, I have never had anything but superb service from them. They saved me almost $1,000 on one of the Magic cruises by checking on rates (they went down because of September 11) and finding out that ours went down. I had already paid in full, so there was no incentive to do this and I would have never known the difference.

Last week they booked us on the eastbound panama canal cruise for next summer and we got the best price on a Cat. 6 that I have seen on these boards. Then Friday, when the ship was sold out, my DW finds out that twins are on the way. This will put our family at 5, and therefore we have to have a Cat 4 or higher. They waited until the cabins came back on line this week and were able to get us a Cat. 4 at the opening rate, which is about 4,000-$5,000 cheaper than the going rate.

I always deal with them by phone and always have my calls promptly returned.

The folks at DU are obviously a class act as well, as evidenced by these boards and Pete's post here.

UPDATE

The owner of All Seasons read my comments on this board and sent me a PM apologizing for the slip in service. I called All Seasons this morning and was advised that our Radisson reservation was in order (and I am waiting for an e-mail confirmation - I suspect they've had my e-mail address wrong all along and that I get their advertising e-mails because I entered my addresss myself when I signed up.)

It was not my intent to bash anybody. I just wanted to report my experience. DU gave me very good service when I requested a quote. All Seasons was still hundreds less for our cruise.
