Heard this morning that all of our schools are closed. Guess the kids will have a fun snow day! :goodvibes

Be safe and have fun. My DS would love to experience a snow day. But the only way he would is if we all take a day off and head up to Lake Tahoe.

NYC schools are open- but I wish they weren't. I'd love to have an excuse not to drive to work today.

Actually not all schools around Boston are cancelled. I know Brookline, Newton and North Reading all have school.

I called our emergency # at dinnertime yesterday and found out school were closed. I guess 19" of snow will do that. Luckily I'm wired to work at home so I don't have to tap into my vacation time. I think I'll be taking a long lunch though to help DD build a snowman ;) .

Most other school districts in the area are closed as well. Farther north and west in Morristown, Chatham etc they're delayed 2 hours.

The district I work in is closed (Vineland) but the other big three in the area are all open and on time. Bridgeton, Millville and Pittsgrove, all open. It's strange because usually when one is closed they all are. I'm not complaining though, I needed a snow day to catch up on paperwork.

We're in Milton (just outside Boston) and my kids had school
They really didn't care, I think they were ready for a change. The blizzard really didn't quit until too late for them to play outside yeaterday, so they were cooped up.
I know Braintree also had school. The roads around here are fine, I'm not sure why so many towns jumped the gun and cancelled.

Our school district closed around 10 last night. Nice relaxing day here for my DD and I. I'm planning to scrapbook all day!

School is opening two hours late here, so my son will go in at 11:00am. But my daughter has no school at all, since she is in the am kindergarten class.

My guys are off today. They announced it last night. We got 17.5 inches of snow here yesterday...guess that's enough to shut things down!! ;)

We don't have kids, so it's not something I listen for, but I did notice my next-door neighbor, who is a teacher, is still home and she'd be long gone if there was school, so I assume there isn't school here today either.

We had about 1.5 feet of snow here, so while roads are passable in a car if you take your time, I don't think I'd want my kid on a school bus careening around.

All Mercer County schools are closed (we got 17 inches of snow). DH has been trying to drive to work (in Somerville) for an hour and a half (in my car, which has snow tires). He hasn't gotten far. He said all the roads are snow covered, except for parts of 206. He just passed a really bad accident...someone crested a hill and ran into some blow over from a field and hit the oncoming traffic head on.

He also saw some clueless guy trying to drive a Miata in this mess.

I'm lucky I can work at home.
