So we have no snow storm to speak of all winter and we have one the day we are set to drive down on the ENTIRE first day route? Yikes. I'd speak to my GA (Guardian Angel) about this but I can't find the bridge in Bedford Falls to conjur him up.
Luckily for us, it's not a big deal, we were taking 5 days to drive from NY, now we'll rush it and take 4 days. Even when we get there, we're pretty flexible with our plan (which is basically to do all the stuff you people told us about in the past week or so).
Some of you, however, have flights out of the northeast, huge broods to deal with (no kids here; a stroller and an infant looks like too much to handle to us) and war plans that would earn you an advanced degree at West Point. I'm hoping that the weather doesn't delay you. If it does, the good news is that a start like this seems to always end up well and just becomes part of a great story to tell when you come home. The other good news is that the temps are perfect in FLA now.
Funny thing is that after years of travel, we've only had one trip shortened or affected by prevailing conditions. Our last trip to DIS was 25 years ago, almost to the day. We were scheduled to fly out but a surprise blizzard came and the airports closed for almost 2 days. We were on People's Airlines, but when we got to Newark a day late, we found that we weren't getting out for at least two more days. So we went to Hertz, rented car and drove straight down. It cut us short one full day, but it did result in a fun experience that gets brought up from time to time.
No point to this, just venting and concerned about you folks that have complicated arrangements. You build up a head of steam and it's time to go and .. uh .. oh .. wait, not yet ...
