ALL restaurants now take CC GTY

I went to change a Coral Reef reservation to a different date and time and the cm I spoke with said that as of Nov 20th ALL restaurants require a credit card GTY. My TA had mentioned that this was going to happen sometime before the end of the year but didn't have a date. I can understand why but I have to say it was nice having a reservation that I didn't have to decide the day before if I had to dine there

we always cancelled any reservation we decided against whether it was if we were in another park and couldn't make it on time or were too tired and stayed at the hotel, etc.

1) There were some glitches during the initial startup.
2) Now these are cured, it is FINALLY about time it were started.
3) The old system had problems for both guests and WDW.
. . . guests couldn't get ADR's they wanted because others would double/triple book
. . . even for last minute cancellations, guest plans couldn't always be changed to get their desired eatery
. . . WDW lost revenue because of the no-shows and inability to get those slot filled *
4) I personally think this is one of the best things WDW did for dining.

* There were three separate studies of no-shows at Le Cellier. They started with more than 3-pages
of no-shows PER DAY. After a guarantee, the no-shows dropped to about 1/2-2/3 of a single page. The
was the same at two other eateries they sampled after the implementation of penalties at character
meals.

I agree with Rusty! For years, people on this board have bragged about making 2 reservations for lunch on the same day at different parks, because they didn't know which one they would want to keep. People also posted how they made ressies for every meal and would just show up to the ones they wanted to keep. That made it difficult for the rest of us, or for poor mis-guided people who DON'T read the DIS, to ever get ressies.

I just hope that this does solve the problem. As much as I hate the huge level of planning now required for a WDW trip, I'm hoping it might be easier to eat at least!!
