All of you that use Bare Escentuals...

I don't want to pack my Bare Escentuals in my suitcase!! I'm afraid they will be "lost" or "stolen". My questions is...do you pack them in your carry-on? I would (literally) cry if I had my BE confiscated. I know all you BE users feel the same way. How many 1 quart size baggies can you have in your carry-on? Thanks, Lori

My mom flies from Miami to Tampa a lot and she packs it in her checked bags, then locks the bags. She's never had a problem. if your checked luggage gets picked to be searched you have the right to stand there and watch them search it and repack it, and they have to relock it too. If you are not there when they search it and it's locked they just cut the locks off and search anyway.

I'd pack it in the checked bags if it was me.

My husband and I were debating this last night!! We leave tomorrow and I am having a heart attack because I want to pack all my BE in the carryon as I always had. He says no way because he knows I will be miserable if they take it! I just pray my luggage doesn't get lost then because I can not survive a day without my BE!!!

You can have one quart-sized ziploc baggie per person. I would just pack it in the checked luggage. I don't use BE, so forgive my ignorance, but I thought it was a powder makeup and not a liquid? If it's a powder, then there's no need to put it into a baggie at all. You can just put it into your regular carryon.

girli565 - how can you watch them search your luggage? Whenever mine has been picked for inspection, the only way I know is because there's an inspection tag inside when I open it up. I thought they do the inspection after you check your bags? Also they have restrictions on what kind of lock you can use. It has to be TSA approved, so that they can open it. If you use any other kind of lock, they will cut it off. Locks do not keep them out, they just keep your zippers from accidentally unzipping.

If I had a product that was that important to me, I would put a small amount into another container for use during vacation. That way, on the off chance that it was taken or lost, I would only be out that small amount and not the whole thing.

I'm confused...why do you think it will be confiscated? Is there a new rule I don't know about? I have always put it in my carry-on but not in the 1qt bag. It's a powder not a liquid...well most of the products are anyway.

At MIA once the luggage is checked at the counter and weighed I have to take it to TSA myself or I can watch it on the conveyer belt and follow it to TSA. The huge scanner gets packed and then there is the lne of inspectors. Whenever my luggage has gotten chosen for inspection they look around to see if the person is there and because I'm anal and follow it to make sure it got there ok I'm always around when they inspect it. The guy asks me for my keys to unlock it and then searches it. He puts everything back and locks it back up for me, hands me my keys and sends me on my way, lol. Maybe it's different at other airports but domestic flights that I've left on I've been able to follow my bag or take it to TSA myself.

I put mine in the checked bag and it is fine. However this last trip home they didn't get me a piece of lagguage until I was home 24 hours. Thank heavons it wasn't the lagguage with my make up in it LOL

I take mine on my carryon. Never had a problem. But if you're using their lip products or mascara, be sure to have them in the quart bag. All the rest is powder so it's fine in my makeup bag.
