I have to admit, all this code and discount stuff makes my head spin.
I'm thinking that this new Jan. code that's coming out soon isn't going to do anything for us since we've already booked a suite at ASMu and I've heard they aren't included in the deal. I have thought about calling whenever the code comes out and finding out what is avaliable and how much it would cost, I'd probably give up our suite if we got a room at a discount at a moderate resort.

Whenever I try to look up stuff through AAA I never see any of the disney hotels in the search list and end up having to fill out the form to have them contact me and then the price is generally higher or the same as I already have through disney - for a regular room, not a suite. I like to atleast do my research online, and have found I can't do that for Disney on AAA site (unless there is a trick to seeing the Disney hotels online and I'm just not getting it) :surfweb:

I am new to all this planning stuff, and while I'm having fun, a lot of it is really confusing. I have a lot of respect for those of you who manage to scout out all the good deals and stuff! And I love that no one has a problem sharing their tricks with all of us

Don't worry. You'll get the hang of it. The first time I went to Disney I couldn't get a room anywhere on property at first, never mind a discount. If it wasn't for these boards I would probably have wound up in Motel 6.

So, you're doing well in comparison so far. And something will come up if you keep your eyes peeled. January is a good time to get discounts - I've never gone in January without getting one.

Hang in there--it gets better! And then you'll end up like me, who doesn't want to go anywhere on vacation except for Disney. Not just because it's Disney, but because at least I know what I'm doing (somewhat) when I book a Disney vacation. When I start trying to research Hawaii or Mexico or someplace else, and I just end up feeling overwhelmed and baffled. Probably something similar to what you're feeling now. ;)

Though I agree with you about AAA--they make me crazy, and not in a good way. The only thing worse than using the web site is actually calling them. I know some lucky people here have a great, Disney-educated agent, but I've never talked to anyone who knows half as much as I do about Disney vacations.

Welcome to the DIS!

Are you trying to book a package or a room only? Unless it is a package you don't need AAA. and sometimes a code is better then AAA in which case you still don't need AAA.

I too trying to figure this out. I already have my vacation booked for next month but plan to go again next year and want to save as much $$$ as possible. I did not use a code and now I am thinking I shoud have. So can yo book a trip and then later if a code comes along what do you do? do you cancel the reservation and book a new one or apply code to an existing reservation? Please help???:confused3
