We are taking our FIRST WDW trip in October and the kids are dying to do Blizzard Beach. I haven't bought hoppers yet, and don't know whether or not to buy the ones that include the waterparks. I know Florida isn't terribly cold in October, but didn't know just how usable the waterparks really were.
I see that lots of people on this board go in October, so how many of you did the water parks then???

We have been a few times in the first couple of weeks in Oct & the weather has been excellent,it has proven to be a bit more predictable than late September! This year(2003) Wdw ,at weekends for about 4/5 weeks, had one of the parks closed Fri/Sat & the other closed Sun/Mon-so if they do that again this year ,you will be best going during the week-that's what we'll be doing anyway! TL tended to be quieter than BB as the bigger slides at BB suited older kids/adults.Hope this helps SD:smooth:

We were there the first week of October '03 and highs were in the low 80's every day, so it was plenty warm for the water parks. We enjoyed a day at BB with our 2 year old and 6 month old.

I was wondering this also if it would be warm enough. Is TL better for younger kids? My daughter likes to go down the family slides do they have any of these?

blondepixieduster25,

We were just there in October with our DD6 and DD4. We went to BB 3 times! My DD loved the tube rides because she was able to do the adult tube ride with my husband or me (they have double tube rides so she was able to go right with us)! My DD4 loved the family raft ride at BB because it was longer, you didn't get soaked going under waterfalls during the ride (only at the end of the ride right before you get off). My DH loved the family raft ride at BB better than TL because he didn't have to carry the huge raft up the stairs all by himself while I helped the kids up the stairs. BB has a lift for the big rafts. We went on it at least 10 times each day we were there. I definately loved the family raft ride at BB and didn't like the one at TL much (it was sooooo short!). How old is your DD? BB has a larger kiddie area too. I would choose that one. I wish I were there right now.

The weather was in the 80's and the water was nice and warm in October - we went early Oct, but I bet it's great all month.

p.s. if you ask my DD4 now which was his favorite ride at WDW, he says "the family raft ride!".

The beginning of the month will definatly not be a problem. Towards the end of the month it gets a little cooler in the morning and the evening, but you should still be able to do a waterpark since it is nice during the day.

We been at WDW the first week of Novmber in 2000 & 2003 and it was definitely warm enough to do water parks both years.

In fact, this year it was upper 80's and humid most of the week.
