King of Gondor that is ;)

What a wonderful movie! I know there have been many threads about Lord of The Rings, The Return of the King, but I couldn't help myself ;)

I took my children last night and woke up with swollen eyes from crying! LOL!

I think it's one of those movies that you must see again to enjoy it even more and I especially am looking forward to the extended edition.

I hope it's 8 hours long!!!

Well, I've been putting off reading the book until after the movie, so I think I'll go start now! (Are you listening Gina??? ;) )

I am so jealous of you!!! I can't wait to see it, but don't know when we'll be able to. DH & I went to see Kill Bill last month & I cried during the ROTK trailer!!!

One of the best movies I have ever seen. Im even gonna go out on a limb and say that it was better than the Star Wars Series.

I cried also...many times during it and ya Im a male but i couldnt help myself. When a movie is that emotional to someone and
3.5 hours felt like 1.5 hours because of the storyline then u know you got your monies worth.

Its sad that its over too ...No more anticipation for next december for a new one. But I think that ROTK has done this whole series justice and made a proper exit from the world of anticcipation and the world of the LOTR.

Thank you Peter Jackson and the whole crew!!!

Darn! I thought this was gonna be about Simba.:teeth:

:teeth:

While Simba is quite a looker, I think Viggo has him outdone! Just a bit!

<font color=navy>My kids & I saw this movie last night. It was so good! I thought the battle scenes were just a tad long, but my rascals assure me that every bit of those scenes was essential to the plot. :)

Sam is my hero - what a loyal friend.

There were a few immature people who laughed at some of the scenes, but I concentrated on the story of friendship, loyalty, and honor.

Incredible story - Incredible trilogy.

We have the book on tape, and will be listening to it on our trip to El Paso this week. :)

It was wonderful. I didn't enjoy the second one much, but this one more than made up for it in my eyes.

Weren't the elephants amazing?

I leaped on this thread as soon as I saw it, CRB! LOL!

I haven't seen the movie yet....hopefully between Christmas and New Year's.

I am dying and I mean DYING to see it.

Guess you liked it, huh??? (despite the inaccuracies....LOL LOL LOL)

Glad you posted this! Everyone is raving about it....and it's nice to see it lives up to expectations....and beyond......

<font color=navy>Gina,

This movie truly has everything that an entertaining movie can have - a little romance, a lot of adventure, suspense, the right touch of humor, honor, great storyline.

They really did justice to this epic.

Hi Gina  According to my DD who has read all three books, there are a few inaccuracies (I thought they were minor), but a few omissions that aren't so minor. My dad calls it poetic license, LOL!

But in all, the movie is truly wonderful...breathtaking and incredibly emotional, and I'm sure the extended edition is going to be beyond words! Enjoy every second when you go see it....it flies by!

Hi Mary Jo  I thought the battles were a bit long too and thought they could have put some things in that they didn't with that time. After Gina sees the movie, we can pow wow about it!!! :teeth:

And you're not kidding about the suspense! I was ripping my hair out in a few spots! :crazy2:

My DD is actually out again tonight with some friends seeing it again. She's going on Tuesday again! I think she's hooked! ;)

We saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it. Very well done

Seen it today...LOVED IT!!

Would like to see all 3 together on the big screen..

will hopefully see it soon,I did notice one thing during FOTR.Bromir's death got moved up 1 book and Merry is quite a looker in real life

Saw it today and it was so awesome!! :bounce: :bounce:
The 3 1/2 hours flew by.

Saw it today as well... one minor gripe with a change from the book to the movie (one I can't understand why they did it, where as the rest I sort of see), but otherwise it was absolutely wonderful!!!! Loved it!!!!!

We ran out to see it today, CRB! Awesome flick!

And I have to confess.....I have to reread the whole book....I know poetic license has been taken but the story is so seamless that I'm not sure where Tolkien stops and the script writers start! I guess that's an admission of old age setting in, no?

We saw it Friday night. What a great movie!!! I was a little concerned - it was much more "intense" that I might have liked (for my DS who's 7). He didn't seem to mind but there was one scene with spider that I made him close his eyes....

People in the theatre were cheering at parts of the movie...it was incredible!!!!

I hadn't even thought about what happened to Sauron...a friend that went with us complained a little about the "poetic" license that was taken with the story line. It's been years since I read all the books - and honestly I couldn't tell you what was different...
