All for my ma*

Welcome to my pre-trip report for my wish, my hope, my dream vacation with my ma. If any of you followed the December 2010 thread, you may know that my mother and I had to cancel short notice because she is in the hospital. She just went into kidney failure, after she was diagnosed with a diseased gallbladder. A bit of background- my mother also struggles with CHF (congestive heart failure) and diabetes. This woman is my world, my best friend, the only one who truly understand my love for disney.

We were to stay at CBR in a pirate room December 12th-18th. My mother and I have struggled through several heart attacks and a miscarriage. Since my mother is in the hospital, it is just my father and I. He keeps to himself and isn't much support. Last month, my younger brother was sent to a psych ward for personal reasons and now residse in a group home. Needless to stay, my mother and I needed this trip.

So, what makes me think of writing this pre-trip report?
Hope. Hope is what keeps me going. Hope that my mother and I will share our love of disney together soon. Her renal specialist even said lightly, "Oh, Linda, you and your daughter can join me and my wife in Disney next month! You wil be much better!"
To hear that, lifted my spirits.

She has went through two rounds of dialysis in the past three days. The doctors say her numbers are good. They hope to send her home soon, but the concern of her kidneys make them hesitant.

With that, we are hoping to finally make it to our special place in January. I told my mother, no matter what week, what month, we will go.

So, I hope you will join me with hope and support.

I can relate to what you are going through with your Mom. The night I returned from DW in June we rushed my mom to the hospital. She also has CHF along with COPD. She ended up going into a nursing for rehab after getting pneumonia and having 2 surgeries due to a fall. A couple of months ago we didn't think she was even going to be here for Christmas. She is finally coming home this Friday, hopefully for good. While my mom has never been to DW, she has been on a Disney Cruise with me and she understands my love for Disney. I have no idea when I'll be able to plan another trip as I am her primary caretaker. Here's hoping you get your trip with your mom soon.
