Be Careful With The Quest Machine!!!!! If you are not careful i see ppl here and on other boards discussing how they can use the quest machine for trading nontradeable items and credits . Remember there is no fail safe here as soon as you let the quest open and someone starts it you could lose all the prizes you put in there and gain nothing. Also beware of ppl offering to trade you through this engine as they could trade you for the item you wish to give them then boot you immediatly there after. All im saying ppl is be careful what you do with this engine it can be good or Bad !!

You could also lose all your credits and stuff if you crash and that's offered as prize.

The way around that is you make part of the quest that they have to say a word and then you make the clue for a different word so anyone looking at they would never be able to figure it out. The only person that knows the right word is the person getting the credits.

I am setting up a trade this way. It's with a friend so I trust him and this is how we are going to transfer the credits.

I am not saying dont do it I am saying PLEASE be careful of who you are trading with if you do not know the person DONOT try this it could go very bad !!!!

do you mean to tell me that, i played your quest yesterday......always princess wow.......and had to waste alot of time for something i clearly had no chance of winning......please tell me that it was not this quest.....lol

i now see the bad side of this quest machine for the unknowing player, i guess the joke is on them....lol.........thankx daviedude for this thread, i will remember these safety tips

I think if you are going to use the quest for trading, you should make your room friends only and make the quest extremely short so that it doesn't interfere with other players.

I did several player quests yesterday and had fun. Renpener, I got dc'd during yours and then couldn't get back on to finish. Drat.

Anyway, the quests are fun and I would be pretty mad if I was doing someone's quest and had no chance of winning because the answer to a question was changed and I couldn't possibly know the answer and had wasted a lot of time!!

no I did that earlier today and close the room and booted anyone that came in. Surely you think that I have more character than to cheat people like that. I ran my quest the proper way. So far I have given out 75 People Mover Pins!

If you did the quest and "wasted" time that is only somthing you can decide.

You know this really frosts me. I was talking about a PRIVATE trade. Of course I make it friend only and took every precaution that no one lost a minute of their precious time!

i agree with you! i meant for it like say i wanted to gift disneyplaya some credits for MGM and instead of giving him 5000 credits in yeti vision codes i can just have him come to my room with a quest machine and make the room friends only(my list is all dis so lol or should i say was? huh? i dunno nvm back to the story) and make the prize the credits and have him say thank you! and he get the credits! :cool1:

excuse me but i dont know you, you are the one who made that posted comment and i just happen to be reading along and thought hey i was in her quest today and wondered if it had been the same one and if it wasnt, there was no need to be so defensive.......if you closed the room and booted anyone who came in then please tell me who would be looking at it and not be able to figure it out, i read it as being open and others trying to complete the quest but not being able to figure it out, guess i need to go back to school....lol..........as for running your quest the proper way, i think you meant to say you ran THAT quest the proper way as i really do not think that your private trade was what the quest machine was suppose to be about.

as for wasting time.....do not take part of what i said and read it, what i said was............

i am pretty sure, that is what you would call it, if you had spent an hour or more on a quest that you had no chance of winning because the quest runner set it up to be a trade....any quest that is open as one and not a trade is NOT a waste of time....hope you can see my point of view......also time is VERY PRECIOUS AS IT CAN BE GONE IN AN INSTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this thread was suppose to be about safety and i find your information you posted to be helpful to me.....when i do a quest, i will not have any expectations, if i win and it shows up in my inventory GREAT......while some may close the room and boot because they set it up as a private trade, i am quite sure, from all i have seen within the kingdom, others will not....this is just one more thing to be aware of as i had never even thought about the quest machine being used in this manner

Well you did not make it very clear in your original post to Davie. You said:

"The way around that is you make part of the quest that they have to say a word and then you make the clue for a different word so anyone looking at they would never be able to figure it out. The only person that knows the right word is the person getting the credits."

Which quite obviously infers that other people would be in the room.

I am glad you decided to post more information about how you completed your trade without having other people do your quest, which takes a bit of time; you did hide things rather well and it would waste time if they got to a questions that was unanswerable.

As I posted on another thread, my daughter did your quest and enjoyed it although I did have to help her, it was a little too hard for her age. And my son did it the next day and enjoyed it as well. Neither one of them helped each other.

can't you just use a gate and some room to close of the entrance and the quest?

makes perfect sense to me and sounds alot easier then closing your room and booting your friends

Does the quest still open when you double click the thing? I am not sure if you have to be right near it in order for you to take part in it.

I think this is an important thread reminding people of the Quest Scams now available and it certainly brings to question a few ideas and opinions, obviously lol. I don't think the intention was to put people down and essentially, I think everyone is entitled to his or her own thoughts on the matter. I also believe it was the ambiguity of LisaInNc's first post which ignited this rather heated debate. However, through all of this it appears the main idea was somehow blurred as this conversation digressed from watching out for scams to challenging LisaInNc's comment. While the shift is seemless, it is there. With that said, I would just like to further explain that the purpose of the Quest maker was most likely not for private trades but in fact for people to all take part in. There will always be ways around the system and lots of people will take part in them. I am not saying if this is a good or bad thing, but I am saying it is completely up to the person whether he or she wants to "take a backroad". lol :p

Every time I have done a player quest, I had to be right beside the quest to play it.

I needed to give my son 6000 credits so he could buy the quest machine. Anyways, I simply closed the room to friends only, blocked the door, and made the quest one step only.

It wasn't until later that I thought about the code thing.

I will admit to be super nervous until he had the credits. I was so scared that somehow someone else would get the credits before he did.
