Hi another voice that has held back from posting to this thread....
in defense of the winners(I am one did not win a room only the chair and the pin) I see their point of view, that said I also do not think that this chair should not be released to the general VMK population. I think they should have waited but released yes.
What I do feel is this...if VMK was going to do something so stupid as to make the winners feel like their time, credits and creativity were wasted...and their win spit upon why did they give out these chairs for prizes...oh wait that is what they have always done with these contests. Almost every event since the beginning of beta has left people with a sour taste in their mouths.
Cudos to you VMK for maintaining your record of p.o.ing people off. From the ones who think the contest was not fair because no warning was given as to what the rides would be judged on, to the ones who won, only to have that win trivialized by releasing one of the prizes to the VMK general population less than 2 weeks later.
I do not think anyone on the DIS would not like this chair to be available to everyone....but if you are going to have a contest/event with winners then give them something to be proud about....not just the satisfaction of knowing that their work stood out and got their(VMKs)attention.
A special Pin not a "top Ten Pin" give me a break! Even best room winners have their own pin. A best room pin would have been more appropriate than the "top Ten". Along with a prize of a large sum of credits so the winners could purchase what ever they wanted.
How about the elusive "inferno" that so many still do not have!
This board has been divided too much as of late and I really hope that poor judgment on the part of VMK does not help to divide our board any more. The VMK producers are human and as such they make mistakes I just wish they would learn from them instead of repeating them over and over.
Please we are all friends and everyone's point of view is important. This is not directed to anyone.
