I am sure this has been discussed before, but search isn't up so I apologize for asking again.

Is the All Day Meal Plan worth it? I could only find the menus on Allears and someone said they are a few years out of date. We are 2 adults and DD10 and DD14. Both of my girls are good eaters and like a full meal.

For Disney I usually figure about $10 per person (entree, side and a drink) for a CS meal and another $5 each for snack so that would make the $24 worth it for us. How do the prices compare there?

I have teenage sons and for them it is worth it. It seems like they never get full. That being said the food is decent but not great. If I were you I would check to see if your dates are eligible to add a meal at one of the select citywalk restaurants I believe it costs about 6 dollars to add this to the meal deal. You can check to see if your dates are eligible by going to www.usf.com when you choose the meal deal and input your dates it will tell you if you are eligible for this add on. This includes tax and tip for the meal. This makes the meal deal a better deal for me.

Also, check the hours the park is open - because if the park closes at 6, then you might not be able to use your Meal Deal on dinner and that makes it a lot less worthwhile.

Apparently the restaurants close their doors a bit before the park closes. I don't know how long exactly...

I did see that it says they close 30 mins before closing. Didn't think about the closing time-- looks like it is 7pm for the end of August. We may be there the Friday or Saturday of Labor Day weekend but the hours aren't posted for Sept so I will have to wait until those are released.

I guess I was thinking the parks would be open until about 9pm--I didn't think to look at the park hours yet! If they close at 7 we would probably just grab some food on the way back to the hotel.

We used the dining plan at US and found it to be well worth the money, even w/the restaurant/park limitation (didn't want to pay extra for the ability to eat in either park as the fare was the same).

We did this and the food in the park wasn't great but at the time, we were able to get dinner at a couple of the CityWalk restaurants - they have a limited menu for that - but we thought it was worth it as compared to a separate expense of eating out at one of the City Walk Restaurants. Once we ate at Bob Marley's and the other time Latin Quarter - I think they change the availability for dinner as part of the plan so you may want to check on it.

Why is the two park meal deal more than the one park? Does going to a different park magically make you hungrier? It makes no sense.

:confused3 I finally venture over to your main interest board and I don't even get a welcome? ;)
Sorry...Glad to see you over here! :)

 I didn't think about that! I am only planning to do one park per day. I hadn't planned to go to CitiWalk but it sounds like I need to look into what is there.

There's no mention of being able to use the Meal Deal anywhere in CityWalk.

We did it one time and didn't like it. We found ourselves eating the same things over and over again.

It's convenient, but you have to pay extra for drinks.

Personally, we just decided to make a walk to Citywalk and eat in the food court. That Whopper bar was pretty good.

We have done the meal deal on two days of our last visit a few years ago, and felt like we had to force ourselves to eat three meals apiece to make it worth it. I think this trip we might just eat a breakfast snack in our room, lunch in a park (probobly the three broomsticks) and then dinner at citywalk. It will probobly come out even, depending on what we order. In fact, now that I think about it, it may be cheaper to eat lunch at citywalk and dinner at the three broomsticks, as lunch is usually less expensive than dinner. But depending on your party's appetites (eg. teens) it may be worth it.

:lmao: You are one of the very few that read it that way! Usually the "s" gets moved around a little. . .;)

I reread the information again last night after what I read I here and realized that the drink wasn't included. That was the deal breaker. When I budget about $10 pp at Disney that includes drink, entree, side. If I have to buy the drink extra for that price at Universal then it isn't worth it. We really only eat a normal amount so it wouldn't be worth it, and we don't drink enough soda to justify the refillable mug.

Hey lovestoscrap! Welcome to the dark side.:)

i do the motherland also and it costs me more than $10 for cs when you include the drink, entree and side.
for the places i go to, it can be $15 for it.thinking pecos bill, cosmic ray, tangerine cafe, chh, etc.

i have done the meal deal at UO only.
that's because i am very fond of 2 of the food places that are in the promo.

i only take in the meal deal for one day during my trip.
the day i graze and stuff myself with pizza from Louie's, is the day i only walk around and take pictures and shop.

it is time consuming to do the meal deal.
each time you want more food, you need to go back in line for a reorder.
so wish i could get a couple of slices of pizza at one time though......if you are going to be at the darkside for only a couple of days, the meal deal is not worth it.

the meal deal begins at 11:00 and does discontinue 30 minutes prior to park closing.

in 1999, i bought the DD mug and still bring it with me for my grazing day in the park.
refills are less than $1.00.

last year there were some promo deals with the meal deal and the beverage deal.

:confused3 I finally venture over to your main interest board and I don't even get a welcome? ;)

well, if you wandered over to the Something is Nothing thread you would have been the homie of the day with a big welcome....

since you didn't and are here...
this is your welcome.....:worship::worship:

Why is the two park meal deal more than the one park? Does going to a different park magically make you hungrier? It makes no sense.

so they can make more money..........

you can buy the 2 park meal deal for a day but it sure would take a lot of time out of your day in the park.

i only do it when i am staying onsite for 7 nights and have a free day to wander and graze for the day.

When you are on the universal studios side and you want to eat at IFF I would suggest checking when the fear factor show is on. I have found that when the fear factor show is going on then the crowds at IFF are shorter and within 5 minutes of the show lets out the restaurant fills up. So check for the show times.

All pizzas on the meal deal are not created equal. Louie's pizza tastes way different than the monster cafe's pizza. In my opinion the Monster cafe's brickoven pizza is way better. Note: Monster cafe is not always available for meal deal put during peak times is often added.

This is the way with several different items on the menus, they may be similiar but not identical in preparation or taste. Example: fried chicken and broasted chicken. Oven cooked pizza and brick oven pizza. Just because you don't like something at one restaurant won't mean you won't like it in another.

And for heaven sakes say No to the Jello!

if I can think of anything else I will edit later.
