After having just got back from a "we shouldnt have booked this" last minute skiing trip we decided that we needed to reduce our September Virgin PE seats to economy if we were going to have enough spends!
Phoned our local VH shop, who despite the flights being £1160, the only reduced the cost by £700!!
They really ummed and ahhed about us being able to leave the booking "open" so that they kept our deposit for us to re-use at a later date - initially saying it was at the managers discretion!!! They quickly changed their tune when we pointed out thats not what their T&C's say!!!

However the upshot is that we are now re-booked with First Choice, PE flights, staying at Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando for £1800 for 2 weeks on 27 Aug. :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:
They price matched the Disney tickets to the lowest I could find - Florida Escapes £222 for 14 day tkt, but not the car hire but thats ok as I can do it separately for about £80 less than they were quoting. :)

Just have to change the ticker now.

We were at Banff, Canada for 11 nights.

We have been lucky enough to only ski in Canada for last 7 years - I always start by looking at Europe but there is soo much choice that I get confused and go back to what I know.

When we first went we only paid £299 each for flight and hotel.

Out 11 nights this year cost £2000 including ski hire and lift pass, and food/shopping was aobut £500 in total. Mind you this year it was -34 degress for a couple of days - not good fun!

We think that Canada always offers great value for money.

We are already booked for Winter Park for next Jan :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 There was a glitch in the Inghams system so we got away with no under-occupancy supplement as there are only the 2 of us and saved ourselves £450 :cool1::cool1:

I hope you have a good week. :thumbsup2 (and look at Canada - its cheaper than you think! and the skiing is FAB!)

Well done getting your holiday changed for such a good price. Hope you have a lovely time.

We love skiing in Canada too - everything is just so efficient and the people are so friendly:thumbsup2

We have been to Whistler/Blackcomb and Lake Louise. Absolutely loved Whistler - it seems like a snowy mountain version of WDW (with tons of amazing runs) and Lake Louise was just beautiful:cloud9:
My DD is out in Mont Tremblant at the moment doing a ski-instructor course and having a blast. I would have gone out to join her for a bit with DS but have done-in my knee:sick: so its just as well I didn't book anything.
