Okay so there's modifications to the usual parade. Then This morning angel and stitch were in Christmas outfits under the tree at 10:30 and then 30 minutes later were the 3 chipmunks, Duffy, daisy and Donald and Santa goofy doing meets around the bandstand. There's new Christmas decorations, new music (and the traditional carols)

However! No Mickeys winter wonderland or fantillusion this season.

The tree lighting ceremony remains the same (I'm popping back to see it at 18:15 this evening!) but then at 7pm you have Disney dreams and although the lights are all up on the castle I have no idea when it is they switch these on as there is no longer a special ceremony dedicated to it it seems so i assume they are either switched on with the tree lighting ceremony or dreams (which is held when the park closes usually so guests won't get to enjoy the lights much if this is the case!)

Hmmmmm will report back later...

Look forward to you reporting back.

Can I ask what is the trio at Lucky Nugget?

According to Cms in Guest Flow on DCP they will be lighting up the Castle at 18.30 :confused3 so it will be good if you are there to see it tonight and confirm :thumbsup2

I'm back! Ooh don't know what the trio is, probably a little band like they had for Halloween?!

Okay so tree lighting ceremony much quicker, no more magic book, just characters dancing, fetch child, here kid wave this Magic wand, tree lights up, characters dance....bye! All In 10 minutes.

When I walked along, main street the castle lights were already on, not as many as usual just the tops of the turrets now.

Also the parade is now three times. A day (I believe) but only ten minutes long and with no princesses etc. the Christmas characters, Mickey and co, Santa and that's it!

Now I know Dreams is costing them a lot and they're proud of it and it's amazing.... But m not sure it's worth sacrificing the Christmas stuff for! Maybe it's just. Me, it's still Christmas it's still lovely, but it's not the Christmas I've come to expect over the last 7 years :confused3

The 10 minute, 3 times a day parade is the Christmas Cavalcade. It replaced the character train.

The main parade with the princesses et al (Disney magic on parade) is still on. It should happen once a day at half four.

The big losses are the light parade (Fantilluision) and Mickey's Winter Wonderland. Dreams is great but I the light parade is a Disney essential!

Are we talking about it looking like 2011 ? or even sparser

I don't mind not seeing Fanti as it was due to go last year but I do find it off that there isn't any show like MWW or why not a LK in Videopolis or lets really push the boat out and do both :yay:

Ok - I'm just posting this one if I may as several people don't have FB - so credit to Orion33 :goodvibes

Thank you for the link. The tree looks amazing I can't wait for DD to see this x

No problems! The village is well illuminated his year though at night, I'll try to get some of that tomorow

Are they still using Chante C'est Noel for the Christmas parade? I can't imagine Christmas at DLP being quite the same without it!
