Those who go for the March Break from Canada, how busy is Disney? I was in Florida just past March but didn't head to Disney and I know about the :sunny: and the heat. Is it really bad though? Can't decide when to go, in March and not take the kids out of school or take them out and head in Feb. (I don't mind taking them out of school). If we go in Feb. though I'd take I75 but if we go in March I'd go I77/I79 and we really liked that route this past March.

:grouphug: Feb or March 2007 WDW  :cheer2:

We were there last March Break and the crowds were quite managable. Just follow that great advice... get to the parks EARLY!!!

We've gone twice for March break and found the crowds to be fine. This last trip, we were there for 10 days (DD's break is 2 weeks), and for the first week in early March it was pretty quiet...no line longer than 30-40 minutes ever, often only 20. Then the second week it got twice as busy, but still not like Christmas or summer.

I think the thing to remember about February is that though it wouldn't be that busy (except for the US holiday weekend), the hours would also reflect that, and would be shorter.

But really, isn't almost any time a good time to go to WDW? :teeth:

DO NOT GO IN FEBRUARY. There are cheerleader contests and massive amounts of early spring breaking. The cheerleader contests alone bring thousands of screaming, minimally chaperoned girls EACH WEEK thru the month of February.. Staying at a value resort during those weeks is pure torture.

If you're not minding taking the kids out of school - go in early May. My sister and her kids went last year between May 3 and 10th and it was great crowds wise. Of course, watch the calendar for what events are going on.. but I'd go in very late April / early May.. WAY before I ever went in Feb/March.

This year, there was a big cheerleading contest starting the 2nd weekend of March...they were everywhere!

I think the best Disney trip we ever took, come to think of it, was to DL in early September! Nice weather, low crowds. That was pre-DD of course!

We went twice on March break and it was pretty busy. Our break was around the middle of March and the first few days were low crowds but as the week went on, it became really busy. The fastpasses (for the day) for many rides were gone by 11 a.m. The weather was good though. It was sunny and warm but not uncomfortable at all. Mid 70s to 80 which was perfect for touring and swimming. Although it was very busy, we got there early each day and could get lots completed by lunch. We returned to the resort for swimming in the afternoon and headed back around 4-5. There were only a few times that the crowds really got to us and that was usually just trying to get through busy areas. As long as you have a plan, it is very manageable. I would certainly go in March again. :thumbsup2

We went in March 2004 and it was a lot busier than the end of August which is the only thing we really have to compare it too. Not out of control though - we just had to be a little more careful about getting fastpasses and stuff like that. We don't go hard on teh parks...we go in the morning and then again in the evening and we swim and sleep in the afternoons. It was also a cold March so maybe that had something to do with the number of people there.

Either way, you're at DisneyWorld! :) :) :) :)

Another March 2004  We enjoyed it and the temps were beautiful (especially since we left snow) Crowds were very reasonable and as we stayed onsight we just left if things got too crazy. Avoid the cheerleaders if you can. They were trickling in just as we left.

While I agree that there are cheer competitions, it is easy to schedule around them, and around Presidents Week. We have gone several times in February and we find it a great time to go - if you do your homework and schedule around the activities going on. It is generally DEAD in the Parks....I mean walk on almost everything. I am to the point now where having to stand in line makes me roll my eyes - I am so spoiled!! The biggest thing we have found about Feb is the weather - you can have gorgeous 30 degree weather or, like our last trip, 'coldest in 40 years' weather (which was still pretty warm to us lol). It is true the hours are shorter in Feb - but you also get much more done quickly so you really don't need until 11pm to see everything.

I am a teacher and have to go during March Break. We have gone for the last 3 years. We go to the parks early in the morning, take a long break at our hotel and return to the parks after supper. If the weather is cool or rainy crowds will be less. We enjoy march but you do need to plan ahead. Have a super trip whenever you go :cheer2: .

That's why we go in March Break too...we're both teachers. ;) If I wasn't a teacher, I would go in September or October or late January...

I think the best time to go for teachers is late August. They seem to go back to school a lot earlier down there. As long as you're organized to sort out your classroom before you go, it's a hit! It makes me a bit nervous not being back in school the last 2 weeks of August to make sure I'm all set up, but this year I'll be on Mat leave! WAHOO!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: So dh can be nervous. ;)

Thanks everyone for the help. When we went in Feb. we went the 2nd week and the crowds were great. We had the cheerleaders but they didn't seem to bother us at all. They even sang on the bus to my little one on the way to MK one day. We stayed at POR. The only time they were overbearing was one night when we were leaving MK before the fireworks because we had to catch the boat for dinner at Trails end Buffet and we saw them all in bright orange shirts sitting on main street cheering for the fireworks to come on. But they were nice and not pushy. I find though the weather isn't sunbathing weather and we usually head to the in-laws after for a few days and we can't go in the gulf because it's too cooooooold. This past March it was much warmer and it was nice. We would stay either off or on depending on the price. We also would be there only 2 or 3 days. Most likely only MK and downtown Disney, and HDDR.

Thanks again for the help.

Just went last March break and it was pretty good except I found the evening crowds bigger than even at Christmas.

Go early and plan your day and it is doable. DW works in school system so we do not have much choice.

Just went for one day last week and the crowds were very small...but not as many cast members working and sometime you need to walk farther for ice cream etc.
