Alright so I finally booked the HoJo from 2/19-2/22 and am so excited that that's finally done!!
My boyfriend and I can NOT wait for this trip!!!
We're driving up from San Diego on the 19th and now I just have to figure out a good rental car that I can drop off close to DL.
We're flying out of John Wayne on the 22nd and figure that we'll just take a cab or a shuttle to the airport. Any advice?

We are thinking about doing dinner at Napa Rose one night...so I need to make reservations for that. Is there a special dining number for DL?

So much to do and think about!! It's totally overwhelming!!

Merry Christmas!!:santa:

why not just drop the rental car at John Wayne? I dont know which, but I am sure more than one of the car rental companies has counters at both San Diego and SNA airports.

Or, you can check out this thread RE car rental near disney

Yes there is a dining number for dineyland, but I dont know it. I am sure you can find it at disneyland.com

Enjoy your planning!!

How Fun! My family and two other families will be there during that time. Look for a handul of boys!
Napa Rose sounds wonderful. My kiddos are not up to that sort of dining experience yet.

Do you know if there's a shuttle to take us to the Hojo from John Wayne? Because dropping the car off there would be much easier than driving around aimlessly, lol

I'll def. take a look at that thread!

Thanks!

Oh that sounds like a lot of fun!! It's just my boyfriend and I going this time...but I'll be running around like a little kid!

Oh I guess I miss understood,I assumed that you would be keeping your car while at DL. You might want to price check it. I wonder if it would be much more to just keep and park your car at Hojo (for free) while you are there and then drive yourself to the airport vs taking a taxi/shuttle to the airport.

Otherwise, take a look at the thread link I posted because it mentions 2 or 3 car rental agencies that are right around DL

There's an Alamo right at Downtown Disney. but I've heard that one-way rentals are so much more expensive than doing it other ways.

Are you just using the car to get from SD to Anaheim?

Just an idea, throwing it out there b/c it was pleasant for me...I was in San Diego in November and instead of flying out of there, I decided on a solo day at Disney and left out of LAX. To get from SD to Anaheim, I took the train! I went on Amtrak points, so I can't remember the actual cost, but especially if you were to book ahead of time, and if you have AAA you can get a discount, it *might* be worth the one day rental plus gas. But then you also pay for a cab (around $13 by meter to the DLH, seemed it would have been cheaper to get to a Harbor hotel). But it was a nice, pleasant, traffic-free ride, and, well, I enjoy the train anyway so I was happy to get to Anaheim that way. :goodvibes

There's supershuttle that will take you from the hotel to the airport. To SNA it's only something like $10 per person (if you have the Entertainment Book there should be a coupon in there for supershuttle).

Speaking of the Entertainment Book, it looks like the 19th counts for the Entertainment book rate of approx $59 base rate for a regular room, so if you don't have it booked that night at that rate, you might want to call them (the actual Anaheim hotel, 714 area code, ask for in house reservations during pacific time business hours) and get that switched, IF you are willing to buy an Entertainment Book (for any area). :)

The train is an AMAZING idea!! I did some research and it is WAY cheaper to day that(even including a taxi trip) than it is to rent a car 1 way!!! I'm a big train fan, used to live in NY and take the train all the time. I think that'll also be a less stressful way to travel do DL!!! Thank you SO MUCH for mentioning it!!!

I actually just ordered an entertainment book last week or so, so that way we can get the cheaper rate...good stuff!!

I'm thinking about maybe doing a tour while we're there....does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the train is the way to go!!! How fun!!!! :) As for tours, what about the Walk in Walt's Footsteps? It's one I have always wanted to do but due to $$$ restrictions haven't been able to yet. Or the Segway tour, same reason as the other one as to why we have not done it but DBF wants to do it soooooo bad.....lol

It looked like a walk in Walts footsteps seems really intersting!! I've only been to DL once...and don't remember that much and my DBF has never been...so that might be something to do

I've never riden on a train.. that might be something to think about for a special trip. Have a Great Day Everyone!

And make happy memories on your trip to Disneyland.:wizard:
