Well I finally got everything in order and am now booked for 7 nights Feb 1-8 2006 in an oceanfront room at ResortQuest Waikiki Circle Hotel in Oahu. I got a really good deal, especially since it includes direct flights out of Chicago which can be kind of expensive if a deal can't be found.

I figured this is a nice way to break the winter up a little bit.

Alright Jason! Hope you have a good ole time!

I'm going to book our Stone Mountain trip later this week for May. Really looking forward to that! :hyper2:

Lisa loves Pooh,

I'll make sure to do that. It's been 3 years since I've been and since it rained the majority of the time I was there, I finally have a chance to do some of the things I wanted, but was never able to do last time.

Tiggerlover91,

Hey there.

I forgot that you guys have that trip comming up and you should have a great time. I thought that I had waited to long to book my Oahu trip and missed out on the deals, but I guess not. Originally I was going back to WDW in Jan or Feb, but decided since I'm going there for two weeks next December, it was time to do something else.

nwdisgal,

Last time I was there I did the Island tour, Pearl Harbor and the Zoo in between massive rain showers (went end of Dec 2003). This time hopefully with much better weather, I want to actually enjoy the beach, do the Waikiki aquarium, whale watching cruise and the Polynesian Cultural Center without the heavy rain showers.

BernardandMissBianca,

I know what you mean about the cold weather and the snow. I figure Feb 1 is a good time to go because it breaks the winter weather in half and gets me out of the Chicago area for 8 days.

I sent my Parents to Oahu for the 40th wedding anniversary a few years back. They stayed in the same hotel as you will be staying in. They had an oceanfront room and loved it! I'm so glad I sent them there. It was always my Mom's dream, but they could never afford it. They had the best time ever. I'm sure you will too!

How wonderful for you! I am from Oahu and I haven't been in 5 years, I have been feeling very homesick lately, so I hope to make a trip in 2006 and show my daughter where I grew up :goodvibes

Have a great time! We'll be at the Moana Surfrider for 4 days in March. The Moana is a wonderful hotel on Waikiki Beach. It, and the Royal Hawaiian, made Wakiki Beach the place it is. We're going to the big dance show at the Polynesian Cultural Center ( I love, love, love Polynesian dance! Even without the mai-tais ;)) and we're going to see Don Ho at the Beachcomber. We saw Pearl Harbor last time as well as North Beach and the Dole Pineapple plantation.

We have stayed at both The Moana Surfrider and The Royal Hawaiian and I recommend them. It's pricier, but very nice.

Don't forget to go to a luau and do the hula.

We tossed a coin between the two hotels as we're staying using SPG points. My DH is only gold through SPG (not Plat like last time, wah!) and I read the Pink Palace doesn't treat their SPG guests as well as the Moana. We love the Moana (to the OP: the tour of the hotel is very cool if you like old buildings), so we're staying there. I'm crossing my fingers for a Banyon Building ocean view.

We are leaving in 14 days for Oahu!!!! We made reservations for the trip back in January and now I can't believe it's almost time to go!!!!

We'll be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and have a day planned for the Polynesian Cultural Center and a shuttle bus trip to tour the island. I'll be sure to post a report when we return.

MELEKALIKIMAKA!!!! ALOHA!!!! :sunny:

We are staying at HHV with HH points. I hope they treat us nice. :)

My friend has stayed at the HHV twice on points and she loves it. How they treat you depends on your level. Are you at least Gold? My DH is Diamond and Hilton treats him very well. We'll be at the Hilton Waikaloa Village over on the Big Island on our March trip too ... on points ;).

Do you know about Flyer Talk ( http://www.flyertalk.com/milesfr.shtml )? They have a board that's just for Hilton Honors people. There should be a couple threads about the HHV on points.

I'm really excitted about this. I have already done the Pearl Harbour tour, the Island Tour, the Zoo and the Polynesian Cultural Center, so this time around I really want to do a whale watching cruise, visit the Waikiki Aqurium, and actually use the beach (rained a ton last time).

Don't forget to climb Diamond Head! Visit the north shore also. Maybe you will see some BIG WAVES!!!

I think we need another hotel night--but I can't figure out the rolling system. :confused3

We're gold right now--but it doesn't tell us when it expires--but then looking at the grid if we did one room night it extends us to some time. Well that is fine and dandy--but if they'd just tell me when my level expires, that would make me happy.

We are silver though minimum.

I will check that link, thanks!
