hummingbird view you don't see everyday...this little bugger was so fast, it was hard to get him, decided at a feeder is MUCH easier

A snake love in that took place in my backyard a couple of days ago.

Black Racers are cute as far as snakes go.

I'm as scared of bees as the next person, but it was all by itself inside a planter so it was all okay.

I think I'm more afraid of those garden spiders than anything though.

me too, snakes, bees wasps, don't really bother me but a spider( who probably won't even hurt me)

Me too! I am starting to rethink our plan to move to Florida in 5 years just based on those photos.


This isn't a great photo, as it was taken with my old camera through our back window, but this little fox spent an afternoon in our backyard about a year ago.

I saw this preying mantis at a farm stand when we went to pick up a few pumpkins.

How about a few from a recent trip to the Jacksonville Zoo...

This one is just screaming to be made into a postcard - there were two rhinos standing next to each other and a third eating up near the walkway. Just after we arrive he began walking back towards the other two and I started chanting, "Do it! Do it! Do it!" in hopes that he would stand in line with the others... and he did! Woo hoo! Three rhino butts in a row! Now that's something you don't get to see every day!

I think this little guy escaped from his cage... nah, he's a native red squirrel.

And lastly, what I feel is perhaps the best animal photo in our collection, one of the jaguars in the "Range of the Jaguar" exhibit area. I'l eventually get around to printing an 8x10 of this one and framing it for the wall near our computer:

Ok...thanks for the NIGHTMARES!! Those things seriously freak me out...the way they turn their heads, ugh!! But it is a great photo!

I was at the Jacksonville Zoo earlier this year, and I got a different angle on them. I had a great time at your zoo -- spent the whole day there.
