Yep have to call. At least that part of DVC is working for you as everyone else’s fixed weeks have been malfunctioning

You might be able to cancel via online chat too. I know chat worked to make adjustments to my fixed week booking so I assume it would work to cancel although I haven't personally done so yet.

I'm thinking this is most likely just an unusual glitch with Disney and not intended.

FYI: My 2026 W9 was booked overnight. So, hopefully whatever process issues they were dealing with have been worked out.

I also just realized a super cool side benefit of a FW: Before I go home from this vacation, I know the next one is happening!

I was able to cancel via chat once.

@VGCgroupie I did the same this week, canceled my RIV FW50 and AUL FW52. It took the CM in Chat 10 minutes, but he did it!

Is your Guaranteed Event Week at CCV based on the runDisney event you choose to run each year (say Princess 2025, Wine and Dine 2026, etc) or is that chosen at contract signing (Princess every year or week X until 2068)? and can you only go for the days you want (Thursday - Sunday) and get the remaining points back?

A guaranteed week must be used in its entirety. Not entirely certain about the fixed weeks with runs though, IIRC the rundisney guaranteed weeks were still attached to a specific week in the year. Pretty sure ultimately that's why they stopped selling guaranteed rundisney weeks.

Far enough ahead that you can borrow the following years points so at least somewhere around 2 years I suppose. That would give you enough time to opt out of the next year's FW, borrow the points for now and book a reservation with the 11 month booking window. Which would be around 1 year and 11 months ahead of a FW (the second upcoming one)

You can cancel the FW after it is booked, though. So no rush, right?

You can always cancel to get your points back. You can also just book a single night with the points and it will block the FW booking as well.

You can cancel the FW after it is booked, though. So no rush, right?

Was asking due to this thread and will likely try to cancel in advance pretty much always, https://www.disboards.com/threads/fixed-week-favorite-weeks-changes-when-canceled.3967120/. I dont need juggling all my contracts to get any more complicated than it already is.

I’m considering PVB FW for a two-bedroom setup. However our family far prefers the lock-off configuration over the dedicated 2-bdrm.

1) Are 2-bdrm lock-offs available for FW or do I buy two contracts, one studio and one 1-bdrm?

2) Side question, i read in this thread that your FW will not be booked if you have an existing reservation that year. How is it possible to have a reservation if 11 months is the earliest to book but the FW is booked at “12 months by DVD”?

If your UY is, for example, October, and your FW is in early December, you can potentially book a reservation for October with those points in November, which is ~1 month before your automatic FW booking if typically done. If you do that, so your FW points are tied-up, then the FW reservation is simply not made.
