I watched it the other day as part of the Alien binge and loved it. Though im not sure I found the scene that was supposed to be terrifying. Some are saying it was the scene at the end where the girl gives birth.

I did an Alien watch too then went to the theater to see this. I thought it was pretty good - definitely the best since the original two. I did wish though that they had spent more time on the mining colony place, which had some really interesting world-building, that then just gets abandoned for the space station. Still, quite a well-done movie - loved the zero-G stuff!

I saw it the other night. I enjoyed it but it really felt like they exactly borrowed from each of the previous Alien movies. The scariness of the first, the marine part of the 2nd and the terrible wink to the great line that Ripley says when she's fighting the Queen, the closed in feeling of the 3rd, and the hybrid alien of the 4th. It was well set in the universe, the CGI was great outside of one part, and the acting was really good. I didn't mind the 2nd android but felt the CGI was inconsistent and he should've been a practical effect or animatronic. It did a good job of world building. I wish they would ditch doing more Alien movies and do a straight up adaptation of the great late 80s Aliens vs. Predator comic book by Dark Horse comics.

They did. They took elements from all 6 movies.
