Have any of you hosted an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party? I am planning my daughter's 5th birthday and this is the theme she wants.

She already has an Alice dress.. and I am going to try to find a Queen of Hearts dress in a 2T for her little sister.

I'm also planning to find mismatched, colorful teacups & will play pin the smile on the cheshire cat..

Any other ideas? Thanks so much! :yay:

You could take a shot at the Mad Hatter/Wonderland cakes (topsy turvy style) if you feel up to it.

Wow funny that is the party I was planning for my DD when she turned 5. I found this great mixmatched bunny tea set on Ebay cheap with matching sterling silver spoons. I heard Acme will actually make the topsy turvy cake for the same price as their regular tier cakes. We will also be serving finger sandwiches for all the kiddies. Gonna hide the mouse in one teacups. Also we were thinking of making the flamingo crouquet paddles and have a game of it in the backyard
Just hope she dont want it like the new Alice coming out:laughing:

I would make little 'eat me' and 'drink me' signs for the cookies and juice. You could find pretty tea cups and saucers at a thrift store and glue them together in a crooked stack. Maybe one of the games could be hot potato but instead find and wrap a stuffed pig in a blanket to be the potato.

I just googled that to see what it looks like.. amazing! So colorful and.. topsy turvy  That looks really neat. My MIL makes amazing cakes and I bet that's something she would be able to do.

I am loving that idea of flamingo croquet. I wonder where I can buy those pink yard flamingos (not a sentence I ever thought I'd hear myself saying! :rotfl:)
We will be indoors, but I bet I can adapt the game somehow.

Cute idea for the little tags & crooked stack of cups. Little things like that really help to set the scene for the party- love it!

I have found loads of great ideas at this site in the past:

Maybe little white pinafores like Alice? Definitely sing "Very Merry Unbirthday" to everyone BUT your daughter! I think an "Alice tea" sounds like tons of fun.

Great site- thanks! Yes, I hope it will be lots of fun for the kids. My daughter is so excited and it's not even until November. But school will be pretty crazy for me this fall semester, so trying to get as much done ahead of time as possible.
