Yes, it was our final day today, and we were making the most of every minute. I was up just before the alarm, and everyone was ready for breakfast by 9.00am. We did some more packing and left the rest for later when we returned from the beach. Due to a tropical wave cutting us off from the Bahamas, the ship had take the long way round. This meant that instead of being able to disembark at Castaway at 9.00am, we weren’t allowed off till 10.30am.
This didn’t stop us having fun. Once on dry land we met up with quite a few BOB’er and made our home for the day just up the family beach. Rick soon took off to rent some flippers and spent the next couple of hours snorkelling.
This left me and the Bob'er girls to do a bit of shopping, after which we each pulled a beach chair into the water and spent the morning chatting and staying cool. The weather was hot and humid, with lots of dark clouds, and despite the few rain drops as we made our way to the beach, the rain stayed away.
Finally Rick returned to the group and we decided to have some lunch at Cookies Bar-Be-Queue. I actually had a cheeseburger with lots of salad which was very tasty. Rick had ribs and chicken (minus the salad). Back at the beach Rick reapplied his sun block and then took off for the snorkelling area again. They agreed before he left that we would leave the beach in an hours time and go back to the ship.
Here are some of the promised photos. Some from when R was snorkelling.
So once we're back on board, the last of the packing is done including removing all the magnets from the door and the fish extender from the fish! This is the first time that we have not got ready for dinner in a rush. It’s a sad dinner as it’s their last with the BOB’ers, but they will keep in touch and there are a couple of BOB’ers that are coming over to the UK in the next couple of months, so they will meet up. Walt and Di are also booked on the Transatlantic, so they will see them next September.
The final show in the Walt Disney Theatre is ‘Remember the Magic’ with Michael Harrison, Freddie Fusion (both of whom they saw earlier on in the week) and of course the Walt Disney Performers.
As the evening draws on we join some of the BOB’ers in Diversions after for one last drink and then the final, final show – Pub Night in Rockin’ Bar D. They finally say our goodbyes to everyone. We will some of them again at Magic Kingdom tomorrow night when we attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, so its not so sad after all.
