Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) has joined Nicolas Cage in the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," which is a modern-day, New York City-set adaptation of the classic story from "Fantasia." [via /Film]
Plot: A sorcerer (Cage) leaves his workshop in the hands of his apprentice (Jay Baruchel), who gets into trouble when the broomstick he's tasked to do his chores for him somehow develops a mind of its own. Teresa Palmer (Bedtime Stories) will play Baruchel's love interest. Molina will play an evil sorcerer.
The new film is directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure), who will begin shooting in New York City later this month.
