And there is nothing Walt Disney World Technical Support or Guest Services will do about it!

I just got off the phone with Walt Disney World Technical Support after learning that my wife’s ex-husband stole both of my step-daughter’s Walt Disney World Annual Pass ID number and added them to HIS Walt Disney World account.

I spoke with Ernestine and her supervisor Sequoya in Guest Services and was told that there is nothing they can do about it! Now I’m paying for x2 premium annual passes that I no longer have control over. I can’t link my own premium annual passes to my own account and therefore I don’t have the MyMagic+ features or any other online services associated with these passes.

I can’t believe Disney is allowing this to happen and outright refuses to fix it! Beware all!

Are you on a monthly payment plan? Can you quit paying and buy them new passes? Can your stepdaughters at least use them? As your wife contacted her ex-husband? There has to be a way to work this out.

Good Luck!

If these are active annual passes, he more than likely can't use them, as they biometrics won't match, nor would the name associated with the pass.

It seems all he is doing is preventing them from being used for MyMagic+. And this appears to be a drawback of the system with "custodial" profiles, where a guest doesn't have their own MDX account but is managed by another. Unfortunately it appears that it is the person who first enters it controls it.

But I don't think this is "identity theft".

It has to do with the my Disney experience site. My kids are in my mom's account because we all travelled together in Sept. I can't manage my own kids now. We were all in the same room. I have an upcoming trip where they are traveling with me and DH. My mom is in a different room. She still manages them and I can't make fast pass + for them in my account. It has to be done in hers. Technical support told me that when the annual passes expire, I will be able to manage them in my account. Good thing she always travels with us.

They need to resolve this. I dont understand why they can't be moved around.

Sorry you are having an issue. It must be a huge pain for you to deal with.

Sounds like a huge pain in the butt but not identity theft. The passes are still your daughters, they are just linked to the x's account instead of yours.

I'm guessing Disney won't make changes once passes are linked to a parent because they don't want to get involved in custody disputes. Sounds like they need to make it possible to link kids annual passes to 2 accounts, there are millions of divorced families who may have to deal with this.

Your situation is an easy fix. You just have to get your kids on your current reservation. Just becasue your mom "owns" them doesn't mean they can't be on your current reservation where you can make FP+.

You have to "invite" your kids through your mom to be on your account too.

If you already have a 'duplicate' version of your kids on your reservation in your account then call IT and they can fix it.

Similarly the OP can "invite" his step daughters to his account through the ex.

If the OP calmly explains to the ex that the ex is screwing his own kids by not allowing them to have FP+ going forward then hopefully he'll just do it.

MikeK has it right, but I wouldn't call it simple. For whatever reason, IT's been trying to unwind my duplicate profile problem for a few days now, and at the moment it's really messed up... nameless scary ghost mickeys everywhere!

I have called IT and they told me that they are managed by my mom until the annual pass expires. I have invited them, etc. IT went through the whole process, but they are managed by my mom. It's not an issue for our next trip, since we are staying in a room with her. We'll see what happens when we are in separate rooms this summer. Hopefully, it will be resolved by then.

The title of this post needs to be changed...the definition of 'identity theft' is "the fraudulent acquisition and use of a person's private identifying information, usually for financial gain".

An Annual Pass number is not really sensitive personal information (in comparison to SSN, credit card numbers, etc.) and cannot be used to MAKE money (considering that even if the stolen pass IDs are used to link to MagicBands, the original biometrics will still be linked to the account and therefore the bands could not be sold to strangers).

This is a problem associated with the MyMagic+ program, but it is not identity theft. I almost had a heart attack when I first saw this post...
