Alert! Do not have bottled water sent to BLT!

If all you want is water, I would just bring/buy a reusable sports bottle and buy gallons of spring water from Disney. You can either get them delivered to your room or pick them up at the mini-market in the resort. I think they charge $3-$4 per gallon. It's a bit more expensive than the grocery store, but maybe not when you figure in the delivery fees.

Also, for non-perishables, we just pack a box ourself (mostly because DD needs gluten free) and send it via FedEx. In Jan we sent a 17lbs box of food and it was $9 to ship and Ikon charged me $5, so $14 to have a box delivered is not a bad deal. We then ordered the few perishables (milk, eggs, etc.) we needed from Disney. Disney's prices are not that high when you figure in the price of delivery and tip when using a delivery service.

CR - In 2008 we were never charged for our packages, but we were staying on Concierge, so they said they would handle it. They said there would be a charge, but there wasn't.

BWV - July 2009, said there would be a charge for Disneyshopping.com packages, so we knew to expect it. We received a message from Bell Services (which is an outsourced company), that they needed to make the delivery x $5.00/per package. It was inconvenient as kids were still awake (they were surprises). So, he said after 5:00 pm, the resort would handle it. Got a call a little bit later on in evening from resort, that they were going to deliver packages. Front desk delivered all packages, and there was no fee associated with them at all.

We haven't been able to figure out the rhyme or reason to how they charge, but we haven't been charged thus far, despite expecting the charges.

HTH, Tiger :)

:)Wow, seems to be all over the board on this one. Just shipped an UPS package yesterday to the BCVs and fully expect to pay a delivery charge. My question is this -- can you have the box delivered to your room? Mine is rather large (43 lbs.) because we are stocking our OL for the first time. Don't mean to hijack this thread but if anyone knows the answer I would appreciate it. TIA.

Yes, you can have it delivered. I don't know if it is delivered by the business center personnel, or if you'd need to contact bell services (and add a tip) for the delivery.

If all you are looking to deliver is water, why don't you bring a few refillable bottles and a Brita pitcher? I fly and last March brought my empty Brita pitcher (packed some socks in it) and it was great. We always had fresh tasty water. Each night, I would fill all of our bottles with the Brita water and then refill the pitcher to use for coffee in the morning. It saved us a lot of money.

Dh had a cord sent for his laptop from home to BLT and we were charged $5 I think (it was a small FedEx envelope)

When I stayed at BWV in March, I had shipped 2 boxes down to stock my OL for the first time. Instead of going to my room and hoping that they would bring my boxes up -- immediately -- I went to Bell Services and told them that I had 2 boxes waiting for me at the Convention Center. One of the Bell Services people got a cart and walked over to the BWV Convention Center with me. He put my boxes on the cart. Then we went back to the Bell Services storage area and put my empty Owner's Locker on the cart, along with the stuff I had left there while waiting for my room to be ready. Then I went up to my room with the Bell Services guy and all my stuff.

I know this doesn't answer your question of whether they will deliver the box to your room, but it worked for me.

I was charged a $5 fee to pick up a small box that I had shipped to BCV ahead of our arrival in September 2009. The size of the package affects price: if the box is below a certain size the fee is $5. Bigger packages are $10. Or so the CM told me....

I have not been charged any fee at AKV, Poly, or VWL.

The switch over was approx 18 (?) months ago, we still ship sometimes (replacement liquids for our owners locker, one time all the costumes for mnsshp), and one time since the change-over they didn't charge. i am sure that it was just an oversight! i thought i even saw something about them switching all the mail rooms over to the new company and that there would be a charge when it first started. the good ol' days of free shipping are done at wdw resorts, now it is an exception, not the rule (but.......sometimes still worth it)!

:)Thanks. That is exactly what I was hoping. I will go directly to Bell Services (if our room is ready) because I also have a crib being delivered (besides the OL) so hopefully I can get it all taken care of in one trip.

And thanks to everyone else who answered. I can always count on my fellow Disers!
