The peanut butter was good, jelly, crackers, cereal, butter.....I would never buy meat, cold cuts or produce there. And their pizza rolls were just horrible!

We like their natural peanut butter best. They will refund you for anything you do not like. I bought 6 bottles of molasses one year and found out I like the dark molasses better for cookies and took 5 bottles back with no problems.

We love aldi! Some things we have tried and we have decided not to buy them again though. But there is a lot we like and it saves our budget! The things we buy are, toilet paper, paper towel, freezer bags, water softening salt, sugar, granola bars, chips, canned goods, real butter, fresh vegtables (if they look good), taco seasoning, chili seasoning, burrito wrappers, case of water, spagetti sauce, noodles, feta cheese, and I like to try the seasonal food items too! So, did I list the whole store? lol! No, there are things we have tried at aldi and haven't liked it. I haven't tried the meat and don't know if I ever will. We have bought the lunch meat but wasn't totally thrilled with it.

I buy my dairy & produce at Aldis.
I usually will not buy fresh strawberries there though-unless they are Driscoll & look really fresh.Another thing I won't buy there anymore are the bananas-we throw out as many as we eat.Several times the green bunch I brought home would turn brown(skipped the yellow) stage.
We like the frozen boneless,skinless chicken breasts & the tater tots.
We really like the seasonal items-esp. the bavarian mustard,the pretzel chips,cheese spaetzel mixes,etc.
At Christmas we like the German chocolates & other specialty stuff.
Just this fall we have received 2 coupons in the mail for a store in a neighboring town that opened in a new location.Otherwise, you may find a coupon in their flyer here 1x per year-if lucky.
We visited an Aldis store while in Germany.It offered a wider selection of meats & cheeses.I was intrigued by the recycling machines that you could feed your empty plastic bottles into & get money back.

Coupons, at Aldi???? Not here! Will not buy there dairy again, or any meats. Mostly only buy produce (no bananas) and a few grocery/snack items - that's it. Everything else is cheaper with Q's at other groceries.

No one has mentioned SALD DRESSING - both Fit & Active and Tuscan Garden brands are really good. I get french, Balsamic Vinegarette, ranch and ceasar.

I get all our salad stuff there... dressing, croutons, bacon bits (from real bacon), bagged salad. I actually like their bagged salad better than Dole brand - and it's only 99¢! I also get their spaghetti sauce, and it's every bit as good as name brand. I get the pickles and artichoke hearts there too. (artichoke hearts for when we make home made pizza - yum!) I also get cheese there when it's not on sale at my regular grocery, and hummus and fresh salsa. Oh, and their Mercer brand animal crackers are yummy! They taste like McDonald land cookies used to taste when I was growing up, when they came in a little box with Grimace (the purple McDonalds character) on them.

In the frozen section, I get their green beans. They are the skinny ones that are sweeter, and at the grocery, that kind is really expensive. I also get their stir fry veggie mix from the frozen section. Add some meat or shrimp, and a little stir fry sauce, and then make rice on the side, and it's a quick meal!

From the Produce section - they carry Cuties (tangerines) for cheaper than the normal grocery, and Honey Crisp apples too. I'm stopping by on my way home today to get some of those because they are almost $4/lb at my gorcery, and they are less than $5 for a 3 lb bag at Aldi.

Also - FRESH FLOWERS! They are always cheap at Aldi. Make sure you pick the fresh, not wilty ones. I think they only come in once or twice a week, but they are only like $3.50, I think. I was getting those once a week for a while, but then we started going out of town all the time, so I felt like it was a waste since we weren't home to enjoy them. I'll have to pick some up again next time I'm there. I miss having flowers in the house.

Hm... thinking about all of this - now I'll have to stop at Aldi on the way home!!!

I have two ALDI's near me and one I really like the other I only go to if I am at that shopping center for another store. That one's produce stinks.

I like ALDI's produce. The prices are much better than my publix- although I do find they don't last as long. Strawberries have to be eaten within a day or two-I usually get them when we're doing fondue or strawberry shortcake. I get oranges in a 5lb bag there usually for under $3 and I bring them to dd's soccer team for the games(dh is coach) on the weekend. Not as pretty as the ones you by individually at publix but since I cut them up to be eaten during half time the girls don't seem to care.

I like their wine- the winking owl merlot is tasty for $2.69 (best with an aerator) and their Memoir Red is lovely.
Their Reislings are almost always good.

I get baking items, their crescents and cinammon rolls (think like pillsbury) shredded cheeses, hummus is great. They bring in a lot of nice cheeses taht are fun to try. I do find their Crackers are good and some of the chips- dd loves the salt & vinegar, dh the barbecue but the reg and sour cream and onion taste super salty.

Pancake mix is great. I try new things when I can and sometimes like it sometimes don't. But when you don't like something they will refund your money. Most of the mamma cozzi pizzas are good (we like the bake & rise).Not a huge fan of their meats or cold cuts- will occaissonally try something in the freezer section that they have seasonally.

never seen coupons here either- would love that! I do not do a majority of my shopping there but will go a few times a month.

An Aldi's just opened last Friday about a mile from my house. So, I went there yesterday and picked up some items to try. I knew it would be hit or miss but trying to see what we would like. These are the items we have tried so far:

1. Thin Wheats Light - Taste just like wheat thins. $1.29 a box.
2. Striped Cookes - Taste just like Keebler - $1.19 a package.
3. Spicy Chicken Fillet. Just ate one for lunch. Very spicy... $4.99 a bag.
4. Mt Frost - DS says it tastes just like Mt Dew - $2.29 a 12 pack.
5. 12 Pack Toaster Tarts - Kids are trying them today for snack. $1.89 a box.

So, far I am very pleased with the items I bought and pleasantly surprised.

I just started checking out Aldis. So far I am VERY impressed with their chips, especially their veggie straws, their sweet potato chips and their tortilla chips. I am saving at least $2/bag on each and the size is comparable.

Would love to learn how to get in on the Aldis coupons!!!

I've become quite an Aldi fan in the past few months...

Last time I went they had pumpkin spice yogurt! YUM! I'm trying to eat gluten free, but all I could think about was crumbling up a graham cracker in it - it would have tasted just like pie!

I buy my greek yogurt there (pineapple is my fave), frozen coconut fruit bars, whole roasted almonds, lactose free milk, egg whites, rice cakes, chips, lunchmeat (it was lower in sodium than the national brand I normally buy), and the list goes on. I also love getting my fresh fruit and veggies there.

My mom moved a year ago and there is an Aldi's near her new house. There isn't one here or by her old house so we decided to check it out. It seems like all they sell is junk food. I was disappointed. The one near her house didn't have a large enough fresh section for me to even remember seeing anything. I've heard such good things about it here on the DIS and when we went in all it was was packaged processed knock off junk food.

They will refund you for anything you do not like.

Trader Joes (same parent company) does this too. It's great. I rarely have to bring anything back, the kids love pretty much everything. Once when I was checking out the cashier and I were talking about some of the produce and I mentioned that the strawberries I had bought 3 days ago were molded already that morning. She rang the bell and a captain came over and took off the price of the strawberries that were at home in the trash molded. We shop there at least once, sometimes twice a week and I LOVE that the crew has pretty much stayed the same over the last 6 years.

I've had this happen a LOT this year and it doesn't matter where I buy the bananas whether from Trader Joe's, Target, Harris Teeter, Costco or some other place. I always check them because sometimes it's just the peel that has gone brown and the banana is still edible. I guess the delivery truck was too cold or something. Sometimes the banana inside is also over-ripe. Then it's time for banana bread, or slicing the banana and freezing it for later use in smoothies or banana bread.

If it's the same laundry detergent that Trader Joe's has, then it works well on regular dirty clothes. It's extremely similar in composition to 7th Generation. It will clean your clothes and they will smell fabulous, but if you have a tough stain - use Tide. The detergent from TJ is a lot gentler on clothes too, it doesn't fade them the way Tide will.

We recently started going to aldi's. I do like them for milk, butter, thick sliced bacon, cat litter, snacks, bread, and certain meats (ground beef, chicken breasts, sometimes ground turkey).

We bought their moscato wine once and did not enjoy it. Their white zinfandel is very good.

I'm going there today to get a few things they have in their flier that are priced great.
