alcohol

We were impressed. Their beer was good but I do not remember the prices we paid.
We did end up bringing back a couple of six packs of their Hurricane Thanksgiving Rum Barrel aged Baltic Porter. It was a limited release and we were there on a Disney Christmas cruise that left Port Canaveral the last week of November so the might not have it all year.
The nice part was Leatherback was right across from the main entrance to the port.

Back in November of 2019 while on our last Disney cruise to St Thomas we found a place called Rock City Brewing Company in the port but I am not sure if it is still there, also while in Tortola we found a local Island beer that was brewed not to far from where we live in the United States. They use a contract brewer to help with demand when the brewery on the Island can't keep up.

When ever my wife and I go on cruises we always try to find either a local brewery or place that has local beer.
In the Cayman Islands we take a Taxi to a brewery called Cay Brew. They have some really good beer and we always bring several six packs home.
Thank you for sharing!

I would say that the drinks are better than at WDW in general.

The only thing I would stay away from are the premixed drinks they sell during sail away. The drinks if the day are usually quite nice for a decent price. I like to go to buy them directly from the bar at the adult pool as I know they will then be freshly made in front of me (or at least in part, they are often premixed base with alcohol added to it).

The adult bars in the ships all have a distinct bar menu with some rather innovative drinks. At Keys on the Magic we had a drink that was finished table side. Very cool!

All in all I find the cocktails far more appealing on the ship than the wine which I find rather overpriced, even though I have enjoyed some excellent champagne at Oh La La on the Fantasy. Never had a beer on board. But then I ask used to German wine and beer prices and find DCL prices crazy.
One of the tricks with beer "deals" is catching what you want during one of the happy hours. O'Gills pub happy hour deals on Beer are great. Draft was $5.00 to fill up my mug with La fin du Monde, a golden Triple that is just phenominal in my opinion.

How do you know when there is a happy hour? Does it show on the app?
On our last cruise on the Fantasy back in November/December 2022 we requested paper Navigators, we did not use the app.

On one of the pages, under the heading activity's- adults the happy hours were listed as location and times along with other activity's going on throughout the day.

I did manage to find the wine menu. There is a bottle of Napa valley red that is a 100 dollars cheaper on Disney compared to Celebrity. That was pretty amusing. Thanks for the info

Sorry, I thought this was a thread discussing bringing it on.
Well, initially, I suppose you're right, but as you can see it's turned into a bit of a meandering river of all thing alcohol related and DCL and travel.

Yes - they are listed in the activities with everything else. They are spread out per lounge, so not like one happy hour across the whole ship. On the Wonder this week, there was a happy hour in the morning at the French Quarter Lounge (coffee drinks and beignets), happy hour at Signals at some point in the evening I can't remember, 8pm in Cadillac lounge, Azure was 11pm. I can't remember if Crown and Fin matched with Cadillac or Azure. But they were all easy to locate on the app, so you could 'heart' them to add them to your personalized activities list. And they described what was included. It was generally 30% off the regular menu for the evening ones, from what I could tell.

Your mention of Mega took me down a rabbit hole. Mega is one of my go-to places in Cozumel (to get Mexican Fresca; yep, sugar. In this case, instead of artificial sweetener, not just high fructose corn syrup. I digress.)

Mega used to have a connection with Costco. The store stocked the signature Costco brand, Kirkland. Now I see that the company that owned Mega, Controlada Comercial Mexico (emblem is that stork on the Mega sign), has been defunct for years (May 2018, bought by Soriana).

The mystery to me is whether you have been to Mega in the last 5 years or so and noticed any difference in store quality or offerings? It used to be a nicer experience than Wal-Mart in Mexico (not surprising, though. Mega was more like a 2000s Target).
Our last trip to Mega was in the spring of 2019.
The one thing we did notice was a lot less of a choice of European beers that we had seen in the past.
My wife likes to look for candy and snacks we can't get back home and we did not have any problems finding them.

They make special bags for that. They have baby diaper material padding them so that if the bottle breaks, it's all absorbed by the material and won't get on your clothing. That's what we always travel with. They are slim and really don't take much room. We used to use the t-shirt method but then we saw what the cruise lines do with the luggage and hoooooboy, not any longer. (I'm sure @PrincessShmoo has a photo of the luggage in the hallways because she's the queen, er, princess of photos.)
This is great! I’m definitely looking up these type of bags!
