Remember the old days when you could bring any kind of liquor. I always thought that was way to generous of DCL.
You could set up your own bar in your Stateroom.
We never need more than a bottle or two of wine.

We did, but not individually. Other times, I have wrapped in bubble wrap or those 'wine bottle sleeves'

Who was lucky enough to carry that?

My in-laws drove to port from Virginia, so we packed everything carefully in a single roll on suitcase and we met together before getting in line at the port, so it was always rolled thankfully!

I'm assuming the few ruined it for the many. That said, the current allowance is still more than other cruise lines and you can restock at each port.

I agree. DCL a is very generous.

Yes.

Correct. A cast member will collect it as you reboard the ship, and you will be able to pick it up on debarkation day.

I always save some T-shirts from our regular luggage to wrap around the wine bottles. Saves the extra packing material and we know they wont break easily.

I'd be interested in this, also. I've read in the past that the people who the bottles/cans belong to must be boarding at the same time.

That's what I assume and exactly what my husband told his brother, but I'm not 100% certain since I haven't been on a cruise. For what it's worth, we also will have brother in law's carry on bag. LOL, he was at my house just before he left for the conference and left it with us. (his flight gets in late morning and he wanted the least amt of stuff so he can race out of the airport). i'm leaving the kids at home and subbing in my brother in law it seems. LOL

Yes, we all had the same PAT. I would not have tried it if we weren't together. They didn't count them, but they could have.

I figured as much. I'm hoping he arrives around the same time as us. I could have my husband hang back and wait for him, but weve never been on DCL so I kind of wanted to board together. Or we can just make it easy and tell BIL we didnt have time to stop to grab him a 6 pack. LOL

In the past we have.
We usually go on western Caribbean cruises. On the first stop in Cozumel we stop at Mega, their version of Walmart. We will stock up on local and beers we can't back home.

On the next stop in the Cayman Islands we take a cab to a local brewery called Cay Brew, have a few beers, do the tour and on our last trip we brought back a case of beer.
In all we got off the ship with more beer than we brought on. This was in the spring of 2019.

On our last cruise in November/December 2022 we went to the Eastern Caribbean. We went to Leather Back Brewing s tasting room that is across the street from the port they were in St Thomas.
We had a few beers and brought back a couple of six packs.
