Hi...I am curious if there is some place to buy a couple bottles of wine (preferrably cheap like yellowtail :) ) somewhere to keep in our room. Me and my bf are staying at All Star Movies. I have stayed there twice before but can't recall. Is there a liquor store in the airport or something that we can grab some at? I'm really not a lush, I swear :rotfl: hehe

If you're renting a car from the airport, there are a few Publix grocery stores on the way to WDW that have wine/beer, etc. The one I usually stop at (for food too :) is just off 417 on Landstar Blvd (exit 14).

Just looked it up.. 13800 Landstar Blvd. Hope this helps.

Or they do sell wine in the shop at the resort but this tends to be over priced. Another option is to walk from Marketplace up to Crossroads as there's a Goodings there that sells wine.

beer you can get in the Hess gas stations.

don't know about wine.

won't go back until March - maybe someone who is going earlier can look - or may even know.

assuming you won't have a car.

take the bus to Studios - then start walking to the BWV - before you get to the bwv - tennis courts - turn right - kept right - go across the street - the Hess is the first left after the traffic light.

It is a long walk and you know that wine is heavy - so either bring something to carry it in or be in good shape.

Or just go to the Hess near Downtown Disney. The walks shorter I believe. Get a bus to the Pleasure Island stop and just walk back towards the main road. You should see it just a little ways down.

save yourself the time and trouble and just get a bottle from one of the resort stores (i know ssr has bottles)it seems like alot of time would be spent to save a just few dollars.

My DH and I purchases beer from the All Star Movies resort gift shop to keep in the room. There was wine there also. I found the price to be not to bad compared to the price at the bar.

Also do you really want to be walking all over the place to buy a couple of bottles of wine....spend the extra couple of bucks and I suggest getting it on site and save your time to enjoy the wine. Also we put the beer in the sink in the bathroom with some ice before we left for the parks in the am and the room attendants never touched it and it was nice and cold when we returned from the parks to put our feet up and enjoy a cold one after a long day.

Just a suggestion hope it helps. Cheers!

Yeah, that's what I was hoping...I just wasn't sure if they sold it at the All Star...that's awesome. Yeah, I definitely don't feel like walking all over the place! Thanks for the heads up with the sink and the beer...bf will be all about it. Thankfully I just like the merlot...room temperature (:

IIRC, Publix had a good selection of Yellowtail. Grocery stores in FL have beer and wine but you have to go to liquor stores for anything else. There are several along 192, the highway that borders WDW along its southern edge heading west toward 27.

We've just brought our own from home. Bubble wrap ensures that your "package" doesn't get crushed if your luggage is chosen to be a part of the "luggage throwing olympics" :lmao: Our friends went with us in August and DH and friend are big fans of JD so they each packed a bottle and both bottles made it, no problem! I will tell you though, if you like wine, many countries in the world showcase have very inexpensive tastings (especially Germany) and if you find one you like, a small bottle usually isn't terribly expensive. I usually wind up bringing home a case (though now it's shipped because I don't want to have to pack and crate it myself) from every trip.
Have a great trip!
