I am not sure if I have seen this posted before or not, but I am asking a question my dad has...we are leaving in 12 days!!!!

Can you bring your own alcohol on the ship, besides wine...like vodka, or do you have to buy it on board? Has anyone done this?

Also, if you can bring it what fees are associated with doing so, and is there trouble at the airport doing this?

Thanks for your help...

We take a small amount of alcohol on board - to have a "nightcap" after dinner. I believe if you take bottles to the dining room they will charge you "corkage". Nat:Pinkbounc

Also, any bottled alcohol you purchase on board at the duty free shop will be held and delivered to your stateroom on the last night of the cruise, so it would not be available during the cruise.

I think you would be fine bringing some of your own choices. I definitely intend to bring some of my favorite wine to enjoy on our veranda.

We brought various beverages in our rolling carry-on. There is a corkage fee for wine, but we just filled our wine glasses (which we got from our room steward) before we came down to the dining room.

They were ok with you bringing the wine in a glass to the dining room ?? Unless I misunderstood your post!! I am interested in hearing about this! I had also intended on bringing wine with me to save some $$.

On our recent cruise, we purchased beer and gin in Key West. In fact there were several guys who purchased several cases of beer and brought it back. No problem bringing it aboard and there are no fees. You shouldn't have a problem at the airport either. My Mom always packs a bottle of champagne and never has had a problem. There is a corkage fee (I think it's $15) to bring wine into the dining room.

As far as bringing in a glass of wine into the dining room, how is your server going to know if it's from your room or if you just came from one of the bars? I'd say go for it.

Just remember..if you don't drink the whole bottle..you can not take the bottle home with you..no opened containers can be taken off the ship.

Have fun!

I bring the little individual size (like airline gives you) of vodka or whiskey or gin. They are plastic now days, put them in ziplock bags and pack in with your clothes. I also have wine zipper bags that hold a bottle or two of wine with the small plexi glass wine glasses, sort of a travel wine caddy. I put the wine bottles in 2 Gallon size Ziplock bags and some bubble wrap and either put them in my carryon or put them in the luggage that gets checked. I have never had a problem with anything breaking. We have been on 3 Disney cruises and no problems carrying wine or beer right through as you check in with your carry on stuff.
