So I just read there will be a Gaston's Tavern in the new Fantasyland. Am I wrong to assume this will be the first place offering "grown-up" drinks in the MK?
I love the drinks at Sci-fi, oreo orbit, my favorite. And EPCOT has a worldwide selection ;)

Ice cold beer & a hot pretzel...nice :woohoo:

Thanks to all who respond :)

No liquor is planned, from anything I have seen, despite the name.

don't think there's been any official announcemets of menu items yet...but it might just be limited to rootbeer, lol.

and put your flame suit on for this thread: I predict you're in for a bumpy ride, lol.:lmao::drive::lmao:

:banana:Loads of people will weigh in with the "OMGoodness, WWWD?"(What would Walt Do) since he apparently was opposed to alcohol sales in the Magic Kingdom. And then there will be the folks who want to know why you cannot survive a few hours in a "family" park without alcohol...and so on. Just so you know what you might be in for, lol.

Yes, you are wrong. ;)

Don't I wish! I think Disney plans on keeping the MK alcohol-free. You'll still have to smuggle in your tiny bottles and pour them into your Dole Whip or Coca Cola. ;)

They don't serve alcohol in the Liberty Tree Tavern, either.

Maybe they will try to do some Butterbeer type drink....To level up to WWoHP. Oh man if they could replicate it, put it under another name and sell it, I honestly would never leave Disney World. NEVER. :rotfl:

:love:Mmm....butterbeer....

Now heres a question would people support the sale of alcohol in the MK if that meant Disney wouldn’t raise prices on anything for a while??

I hope they do not serve alcohol in MK. After all, alcohol is only a monorail ride away! Or a walk to the Wave. I know because I have done this to survive a cranky toddler.

The fact that they don't sell alcohol in the MK has nothing to do with revenue. Otherwise they would have done it already. If they were OK with it, they would have done it already, in addition to ticket price increases.

obviously but in place of a price increase i was just curious if the disney going public would be okay with the sale of beer at the MK..

I'm with Walt on this one. Family parks aren't the place for liquor.

There is a time and place for booze, heaven knows! I don't think Disney parks is the place. If you want to drink, go to a bar or a sporting event.

The Disney people disagree, obviously.

But I'm with Walt.

I wouldn't mind seeing alcohol at MK, but just because it's called a tavern doesn't mean it actually will be!

Here's an awesome blog post about "places not to drink at the Magic Kingdom." It's pretty funny because it chronicles all the alcohol there... just not for the public to consume!

After the youtube video of the drunk guy at California Adventure, I think the ban is a good idea. I was at the Food & Wine Festival on a Saturday night in 2010 and I could not believe the drunkeness, especially women. Someone threw up in the boat in front of us on the Mexico ride. I'm not a prude and occasionally drink socially but I don't it's necessary to serve alcohol with a large number of children around.

Lol - your title reminded me of a family last summer that asked me how to get to Fantasyland from Tomorrowland. It was an extended family of grandparents, parents & small children. After I gave them directions the grandfather asked if there was a bar over there where they could relax while the kids went on rides. I nicely explained that the MK doesn't serve alcohol and suggested the Contemporary resort. So not everyone realizes that you can't get alcohol at the MK.
