I heard about this from another disboarder and checked it out today. It's a great deal if you need any gift cards or want to use them for yourselves.:goodvibes

For every $100 in Gift Cards you buy (there are a few exclusions-VISA, AMEX, ALBERTSONS) you will receive a coupon for $20 off your next grocery order. It prints out from the Cataline machine. The coupon is good through 12/24/10 and you can only use one per transaction. It says a max. of 5 per valid transaction (you have to enter your Albertson's card number so that's how they'll track it).

My DSis and I just went and bought some.:cloud9: They have so many to choose from. I bought $200 in Disney GC to use to purchase our 1 day tickets to upgrade to an AP. Our AP exp. in Oct. but I want to go this holiday season so that was a no brainer! I also bought $50 in AMC, $25 in Regal, and $25 for Pick up Stix. My Dsis bought Disney, Sees, El Pollo Loco, Regal, and AMC. We wanted to get Bath & Body Works for $25 but they only had $40 ones in stock. A couple I would have bought would have been Borders and Lowes but they only carry Barnes 'n Noble and HD. Bummer!

Oh, and if you'll be flying on SW anytime soon, they have GC for SW! My DSis just booked a flight for her DD last night. Over $300 which would have earned her $60 in free groceries. A day late and a dollar short. If I had more money right now I would buy the SW ones since I know we will use them eventually.

This deal also applies to Jewels.

Just a few of the cards they carry are Chilis, ITunes, Kohls, Applebees, Sephora, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, B & N, HD, SouthWest, and so many more.

Check it out. Especially if you give gift cards anyway or are planning on a large purchase for yourself. Maybe that new TV from Best Buy?:wizard:

They deal runs through 12/12/10 and your coupons must be used by 12/24/10. No Exp. on GC.
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing the offer. Albertson's is down the street, I don't usually shop there anymore but will for this. :thumbsup2 I'm going today to buy some gift cards for Christmas.

Albertsons owns the Jewel chain in the Chicagoland area...I too, took advantage to the tune of $40 on "Jewel $"...which I will use as gifts as well, so I am happy :thumbsup2

Albertson's also owns Shaw's supermarkets. I'll have to check and see if they also have this deal.

OMG - that is awesome. We JUST decided to go to WDW and will be flying SW...so between the Disney cards and SW I forsee a lot of free groceries!

Finfan, which Jewel did you go to? And what cards did you buy? I tried it today with a $25 White Sox card, and a $75 disney card, and it did not work. The paper gave limited cards it worked on.

Albertsons owns Acme. I work there and they have the same deal going on. I am gonna buy a dryer from home depot that will run me $400. Now I need to know if I can use multiple home depot gift cards on an online purchase. ( It's an internet only sale price). I would LOVE to get $80 in free groceries seeing that I spend that almost every time I work!!!!

...as stated in a previous post, certain stores (such as Jewel-Osco, Acme, Shaw's) are now owned by Minnesota-based SuperValu (they bought those stores from Albertson's, a few years ago).

As for Albertson's, itself, they have something of an identity crisis -- most are owned by SV, while others flying the Albertson's flag (legally-known as Albertson's LLC) are owned by a private firm.

Just remember to check before you go...

I bought AMC, P.F. Chang's, Best Buy Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond. I spent a total of $200 on cards and received 2 $20 Jewel cards.
I'm in Naperville, went to the Jewel on Ogden across from the post office.

I'm in Plainfield - hi, neighbor! :goodvibes

I will try again...not sure if it still is working. Worst thing, I still have the gift cards.

On Sunday I checked a few or my Albertons (have 3 in my area) looking for a $25 Bath and Body Works GC. They all have $40 but I finally found a $25 one at the 3rd one. I'll use that for myself for foaming soaps and maybe a few gifts. ;) Grabbed a $50 Kohls one and a $25 one for PF Changs. Used the PF Changs Sunday night for dinner. Had Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Fried Green Beans-total, with tip, $20 for dinner for the 3 of us. (we drank waters). Still have $5 left on PF Changs and now have another $20 coupon for Albertsons.:cloud9:

I Just bought more on Sunday night so it's still $20 on $100 here in California. Also I checked the ad that is good thru today, 11/30/10, and it's still $20 for $100. I wonder why it's different in a different state? Unless the ones in WA aren't owned by the same company as the ones here in CA?:confused3

But rest assured it's still $20 here in California.;)

Is it weird that I think about going to Albertson's to get GC before I spend money somewhere else? I just wish they carried Lowe's and Borders.

Bumping this up a little. $20 coupon deal exp. on 12/12/10

Used my first coupon last night at Albertson's. Mostly bought items for making Christmas cookies and candy (another "Free" gift!) I was with my DD11 and we were in a hurry (meeting someone who was buying something I had on Craiglist-who never showed! URGHH!) Anyway, if I had more time I would have done 2 transactions to use 2 coupons but I just did the one.

Here's what I got:
Loaf of hot French Bread
2 lbs. brown sugar
10 lbs. flour
2 jams/jelly
2 bags Nestle Morsels
Foil
5 lbs. sugar

Everything was on sale and I had a coupon for the foil. Total was $21.70 before coupon, $1.70 after. I paid cash! My total savings, with items on sale and 2 coupons was $32.74.

I did ask before I shopped what items constituted dairy (since it's excluded) I knew diary inc. milk, butter, ice cream, and yogurt but I wasn't sure about eggs. They said eggs (after checking) are dairy. I'll just have to get my butter and eggs at Sams Club.

Oh, and the cashier gave me the stamps for the pots and pans deal too. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to since I only paid $1.70 but he gave me $20 worth anyway.;)

Thanks Disneydaz for sharing the exclusions. I'm near you & would not have known what qualified as dairy if you hadn't listed it. Thought it just included fluid milk. Good to know before I tried to buy a cart load of ice cream for the hubby. :lmao: My thighs are kind of glad for the exclusions.

I'm not sure how picky they are. I thought when I read about online it said fluid milk but the coupon I had said "Dairy, if excluded" so I'm not 100% butter, eggs, or ice cream is allowed. Since I was going to try to get my total to be as close to $20 as possible I didn't want to have to go and get something else if they didn't allow them.;)
