Any regrets? We have put down our deposit on AKL and have a few days to mull it over... did read somewhere else that we may be able to purchase resale directly from Alberta as opposed to being in Florida. Just got back from BC and really enjoyed it - cost is lower on resale due to have less years on the contract so may consider that. With the dollar being so high it seems like a no brainer.

We are also looking at buying into DVC. On our last trip to WDW we tried to fit in the tour but just couldn't find the time. We did have several conversations with the guide while there and after getting home. Since getting home I've done a lot of research and have come to the conclusion that a resale is a better way to go for us. To get the number of points that we would require to have the vacations that we want we could not afford to buy from Disney.

My advice would be to look up The Timeshare Store and see what listings they have. I get daily emails from them with the listings. My problem now is picking which resort to buy into.

Good luck!

I'm thinking of this too... we really loved the BC, and did a walk through the villa building which was beautiful. The location is so great, we really hate doing the buses and being so close to Epcot and MGM was great. What we will probably do is a split stay at BC and AKV next - BC for when we are hitting the parks and AKV for when we are relaxing. The BC pool was great too, with lots of activities for the kids.

We bought DVC at AKV (we live in Calgary) on November 17th. We researched for seven months before we purchased. Got some outstanding incentives so we bought direct. We have zero regrets because it was a well researched decision.:thumbsup2

We were in WDW in October and purchased after we went to the presentation. We bought 320 pts in AKL with absolutely no regrets! While we were there, we exchanged our 10 day pass to an annual pass and are going back in August. We used Mastercard for the deposit and paid the balance with mastercard when the dollar was at $1.08 when we got back home to Calgary.
