alaska

Yes he was as he is currently driving home from the airport very tired!

He worked on base all week with the sirens/outdoor warning.

So your DH is the reason all the sirens were going off last week? Well I am glad he's headed back your way:laughing:

I think somebody was having fun with them. :lmao:

I have been not only on the alaska marine highway ferrys through the passages, but have ridden on other ships for months at a time. don't recall ever hitting a whale. but I do have some great shots of dolphins running the ship at the bow.

I think Sandra had her leg pulled. I have driven the highway up, taken the ferry up, and taken several cruises in the time I have lived here and that story is a myth. I bet the people who told her were laughing quite a bit that she fell for that one!!

I know you're all about the wild, but have you actually looked into how much damage these "whale watching" cruises do to the wildlife. One cruise line settled at $750,000 because the design of their ships has caused two deaths to whales.

I also want to say, some one posted on here, how they went on the cruise. And they were constantly hearing "thumps" along the ship. It was the ships running into whales themselves, and them getting bumped off of the ships.

So if you're going to be pro-wildlife, then take a moment to see what kind of impact you will have on the environment before visiting.

go cuddle shamu at seaworld.

i don't hijack peoples threads about their holiday plans to seaworld so don't come on here hijacking mine.

i don't hijack your 'fluffy' threads so go away, fool.

We've gone on two Alaska cruises, we really enjoy it. The best what watching included a pod of humpback whales breeching....it was fabulous.

I'd love to go back and see Denali....maybe a cruise/tour at some point in the future.

My first trip to Alaska was a cruise only and I fell in love with everything about Alaska. I really wanted to see other parts that the cruise didn't get to so I booked a 15 day cruisetour with Royal Caribbean. It was wonderful. The next time I go back I'd like to explore on my own to get even further into the real Alaska.
