Alaska this summer

It wouldn't be hard for DCL to transit off schedule. It would be harder to get a prime viewing time slot. If DCL were willing to transit overnight or something, reschedule is not so hard. The thing about PC schedules is wanting to go by during prime hours between breakfast and dinner.

I think the likelihood of it being a last minute planned revenue sailing are dreadful, though.

Thanks, I did not know that scheduling was so easy. On marine mapper it always shows many ships waiting to transit.

There is always a queue. But if you're willing to wait for space available they can generally get a ship through.

The problem with a revenue sailing doing that is a ship may have to float around for 35 hours waiting for a slot.

Yes, that is the topic here. The question is, will the House of Representatives pass the bill with enough time left for the cruise lines, ports etc to staff up and resume operations this Alaskan season. The bill took 2 1/2 months to work it's way through the Senate, if it takes 2 1/2 months to make it through the House and a week for the President to sign it that will be into August. Will it be worth it for the few weeks left in the Alaskan season? I say no.
As you already know the bill has passed and awaiting the Presidents signature.

I just realized that the Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska 2021 Schedule shows the Disney Wonder docking in Seattle every Monday beginning July 12th, 2021!

What's interesting is that the schedule was last updated on Friday, May 7. The bill didn't pass the US Senate until a week later on May 13. I wonder if the cruising industry got a heads up that this was probably going to pass and got a jump on rescheduling.

Well looks like they WILL sail her through the canal empty then! I just looked at the schedule and she's actually due to arrive in Seattle July 7 then leaves, comes back 5 days later (so where will that first cruise go? ) Then weekly from July 12 onwards
