Alaska Sailing in September - No Good?

The biggest negative for me was the shorter days. It was dark by 730 pm. Lots of clouds during the day. iYou won’t see as much scenery sailing as you would earlier in the year when it never get dark.
If we sail to Alaska we will go in May for the lower prices and longer days.

I couldn't get the vacation days because everyone else picked around labor day...so the other REASONABLE price was in May.

Are we thinking May is good?

As I stated in my above post I think that is better.

Were you able to see the northern lights at all? I read they start in September
