Alaska on July 19th, 2011 "Where a good tan is hard to find"

The twins & their school band were @ Sony Studios today to perform. While there they met Tobey Maguire (spiderman) & Adam Sandler. My boys were thrilled as were most of the band I'm sure. Adam Sandler even stayed to listen to them perform. Awesome for the teenagers & very nice of him to do that.

How cool is that!!!!!

I'm curious about Ketchikan excursion times because we have the later docking and the ones posted so far have been for the earlier docking.

I had posted the link for these times on page #1 ...this is for May but may also be the same time for us...thsi may help with some ideas....

Please note, the following shore excursion times and availability are based on the May 10, 2011 cruise only. Please use this as a reference for your planning; your port schedule and excursion offerings may or may not be similar.

›› Date difference from Mar 22, 2011 to Jul 19, 2011

The total number of days between Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011 and Tuesday, July 19th, 2011 is 119 days.
This is equal to exactly 3 months and 27 days.
This does not include the end date, so it's accurate if you're measuring your age in days, or the total days between the start and end date. But if you want the duration of an event that includes both the starting date and the ending date, then it would actually be 120 days.
The total time span from 2011-03-22 to 2011-07-19 is 2,856 hours.
This is equivalent to 171,360 minutes.
You can also convert 119 days to 10,281,600 seconds.

[QUOTE="Got Disney";40429740]I had posted the link for these times on page #1 ...this is for May but may also be the same time for us...thsi may help with some ideas....

I have seen those ones, but the May 10th cruise gets into Ketchikan at 12:00pm and our cruise doesn't get into Ketchikan until 1:30pm according to the AK 2011 Cruise Ship Calendar ( http://www.claalaska.com/pdf/2011/KTN_2011.pdf ). So I'm wondering if some of the excursions will only have one time slot available and if so what time they will be.

I can't believe we are almost under 100 days:cool1:

The twins & their school band were @ Sony Studios today to perform. While there they met Tobey Maguire (spiderman) & Adam Sandler. My boys were thrilled as were most of the band I'm sure. Adam Sandler even stayed to listen to them perform. Awesome for the teenagers & very nice of him to do that.

How fun...what a great memory!

I got an email today from Delta and they changed our flight for the second time! We originally had a 2 hour layover from Detroit to Vancouver in Minnesota; now we have a half hour layover in Utah! It's nice that we would get there a little earlier, but I am really worried about having only a half hour to change planes. I'm going to give Delta a call this weekend and see if there are any other options.

Just thought I'd follow up on this. We went to our post office this morning at 9a and it took about an hour to do the pictures and passport applications. If you look on the USPS website it will tell you which post offices do this and which have Saturaday hours (we wanted Saturday so as not to pull DD out of school). Some of them require appts, some don't - ours didn't.

They told us 4-6 weeks to process.

Amazing! My DD's passport arrived in the mail TODAY! Less than TWO WEEKS from our visit to Post Office!:woohoo: I'm shocked:banana:

They also are showing excursions there at 11:45.....so all I can figure is that the time is tentative that they arrive. That is why There is a ??? neat the time of arrival for Ketchikan. Yo would think that they would have it correct all ready even for the first comers...but nope.

But it at least gives us an idea and as for the other ports may be even the same times. I still have not decided what the heck we want to do....:upsidedow

Do we have any Platinum members on this cruise that already booked their shore excursions, spa treatments & dining?

Hi All,

Please delete my friends Stephanie, Ron, Elizabeth and William Joseph from the FE exchange. Unfortunately due to illness they had to cancel their trip.

I still don't have cabin numbers yet but will try to get them asap. Since the dDH and I are travelling guarantee we probably won't know where we will be hanging our hats till we get closer to our departure date.

I did note that there doesn't seem to be much still available on our cruise so I don't know if that will bode well or ill as far as hoping for a pixie dust upgrade goes but I shall keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Fortunately my oldest stepson's wedding went off without a hitch a week ago Saturday and with that out of the way I can now put some serious time into planning for the cruise.

I will breathe a huge sigh of relief when we get our passports in hand. I will also breathe a huge sigh of relief when the cold I have had for going on a week now finally goes away. I hate coughing although I have had so much practice of late that I am getting pretty good at it.

Oh, and I read in the Passporter Guide to Disney Cruises that if your reservation is linked to others in a group and someone in the group gets ressies for Palo that it can stop others in the group from being able to get them themselves. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Please let me know.

Hmm I wonder what will happen if I take my next dose of cough syrup one hour early... Hopefully the side affects won't involve anything serious like seeing pink elephants or growing horns, but I have always liked Dumbo and I can always wear a hat so...

Take care all, help lots of people and have a "Wonder"ful day!

Tisza

In case you guys missed this....

While the official announcement will not be made for a few more days, new broke today on the 2012 itineraries for the Disney Cruise Line. With the introduction of the new Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, the two original ships have been moved from their previous itineraries out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The Wonder is currently sailing along the West Coast on cruises to Mexico and Alaska. When the Fantasy comes on board next Spring, the Magic will be sailing some brand new itineraries.

New York City
Starting on May 25, 2012, the Disney Magic will sail a total of 20 cruises from New York including eight-night cruises to the Bahamas, five-night cruises up the New England coast to Canada plus two-night cruises that will give a sampling of the Disney Cruise Line experience over a weekend:

•The eight Bahamas cruises (5/25, 6/2, 6/22, 6/30, 7/20, 7/28, 8/17, 8/25, 2012) will include a day at Disneys private island, Castaway Cay; Nassau, Bahamas; and a stop at Port Canaveral, Florida, giving guests an opportunity to visit the nearby Walt Disney World Resort. As part of this itinerary, each guest will receive a one -day Walt Disney World Park Hopper ticket and roundtrip transportation between their Disney ship and the resort.
•The nine five-night cruises up the New England coast (6/10, 6/17, 7/8, 7/15, 8/5, 8/12, 9/2, 9/7, 9/12, 2012) will call at Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Saint John, New Brunswick. In these popular Canadian ports, guests can soak in splendid natural vistas, explore historic sites, visit quaint cafes and charming shops, and browse Canadas oldest farmers market.
•Three two-night cruises (6/5, 7/13 and 8/10, 2012) out of New York are perfect for families looking for a quick getaway with a day at sea over a weekend.
Galveston, Texas
Beginning Sept. 22, 2012, the Disney Magic will sail 12 seven-night cruises from the Port of Galveston to the Western Caribbean. Ports of call include Grand Cayman and Mexico’s Costa Maya and Cozumel. These 7 night cruises will feature 3 full days at sea and 3 days in wonderful ports.

Disney Magic 2012 Galveston – Seven-Night Western Caribbean sailing on 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1, 12/8, 2012

Seattle, Washington
Beginning May 28, 2012, the Disney Wonder will sail a total of 14 seven-night cruises from the Port of Seattle to Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska, as well as Victoria, British Columbia. This cruise is similar to the current Alaska cruises sailing out of Vancouver, but will feature an additional stop in Victoria.

Disney Wonder’s 2012 Seattle – Seven-Night Alaska sailing on 5/28, 6/4, 6/11, 6/18, 6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27, 2012

Los Angeles, California
The Disney Wonder is scheduled to continue sailing seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises from the Port of Los Angeles for the majority of the year throughout winter, spring and fall, 2012.

Additionally, the Disney Wonder will sail four seven-night Pacific Coast cruises from Los Angeles (on 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 and 10/7, 2012), calling on San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico.

For the first time, the Disney Wonder will offer a special 15-night voyage to Hawaii from Los Angeles, calling on Hilo; Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Nawiliwili, Kauai and Ensenada, Mexico. This special cruise will set sail April 29, 2012.

Port Canaveral, Florida
The Disney Dream will sail 3, 4 and 5 night Bahamian cruises stopping at Nassau, Bahamas and Disney’s private Island, Castaway Cay.

Start on March 30, 2012, the Disney Fantasy will sail 7 night Eastern and Western Caribbean Cruises.

Until she is repositioned to New York, the Disney Magic will sail out of Port Canaveral on seven-night Caribbean itineraries and four- and five-night Bahamian cruises.

At this point, dates and destinations can still change until the official announcement. We have seen the press release, so unless something drastic happens in the next few days, these should hold true.

Robin, thanks for posting all the upcoming new DCL itinerarys! They look interesting!

Just got done booking our shore excursions, Palo & Spa ressies. Did get everything we wanted & only one thing did we have to decide on a different time than we wanted.

I'm also rethinking main dining. It seems that we'll rarely be there for our schedule dining time.

Sharon,
Do you happen to remember what time the Bering Sea Deadliest Catch excursion runs in Ketchikan?

Glad you got everything you wanted! I still have a little wait ahead of me before I can book.

I just went back in & looked. The Bering Sea Crab Fishermans Tour is listed as 3:45 -7:45 pm. Not sure how that works out because our itinerary posts that we leave Ketchikan @ 7:30 pm. :confused3
