Just off Fantasy Western Caribbean Oct 31st sailing. Both my husband and I had a bad cold the last few days of the trip and never looked into booking our next cruise on board. I just got home and could kick myself. A comparable family veranda room to what we just stayed in is in the 11,000 range. Is there a chance I'll get a pin code or something similar? Is the price worth it to Alaska? My 10 year old loved, loved loved the kids club (Edge even though he is only 10 it was no problem) and we had the best vacation of our lives. We could always do an eastern Caribbean cruise instead but we are dying to go to Alaska. I would really appreciate any and all input.

While DCL does randomly send out discount codes after the fact, it's typically for those cruisers who've just completed their first cruise. And not all of them get them.

Don't expect to find much in the way of discounts for Alaska. These are the most popular cruises, and some of the most expensive (per day cost) cruises that Disney offers.

We decided to book our next Alaska cruise on Celebrity instead. Disney was nearly $8000 for two people in a midship veranda, Celebrity was $4400 for a midship veranda with their "Best" option, (Premium Drink Package, Free Internet, Prepaid Gratuities, and $150 per person in shipboard credit). Celebrity also offers a different itinerary on the Roundtrip Vancouver to Vancouver, that itinerary includes the Hubbard Glacier and Icy Straight Point, instead of Tracy Arm, and Skagway. Disney is great, but we just cannot find justification for what is essentially twice of the price of another "Premium" line. I booked the same cruise we are doing, for my wife's parents, with the Celebrity "Big" Option (includes one of the four options I mentioned above) for $3790 for two people. Choosing the Drink Package option, this is a closer comparison to Disney's pricing, (although Celebrity also includes alcoholic beverages in their drink package) and it is obviously less than half. I would have paid a little more for Disney, but not more than twice the price of cruising on another "Premium" cruise line.

I love DCL, but I would also urge you to look at other lines for Alaska. We also did Alaska on Celebrity this year, instead of DCL. We got a longer cruise for less money with a premium drink package and even 2 of 5 gratuities paid. I really wanted a longer cruise than 7 nights, as I was flying across the country.
With Alaska it is all about the scenery and excursions, so I couldn't justify DCL higher cost. And we had a great cruise, beautiful ship and the kids loved the club. They do close the clubs frequently so I paid extra for a VIP class so kids could use them all the time, but I paid for it with my OBC so I still saved about 2k with Celebrity, and got 4 days longer to cruise.

Of course, DCL is still my favorite cruise line, and we are sailing on the Magic in 33days!!!

We too just got off the Fantasy cruise, we looked into Alaska for June, July and August 2016. Concierge all sold out already for the dates in these months. So we plan on booking for the summer of 2017.

I would have loved Hawaii for next year but Disney isn't sailing there at all next year. I was surprised to see that.
