I just read this on another forum that the redeye has been eliminated starting in May. I thought some on this board may be affected by this and want to check their flights. They won't usually tell you-it's up to you to check. They are issuing refunds if you are booked on these flights.

Noooooooo!

I love that flight. I applied for the Alaska Airlines Credit Card because of their flight times and that they had direct flights.

I will complain when I get the CC. Maybe if enough people complain they might reconsider. I'd be happy with once or twice a week having the red-eye direct flight. I would book my trip around the flight.

I would go on to their website and try looking for a flight after May and see if they have pulled it from the schedule.

They have! Unless there was some clitch yesterday as I checked.

I called in today to complain that I was not happy about the change and that I would most likely be cancelling the Credit Card as the other flights are too expensive and I could book with another airline for less. I was told that if enough people complain they may add it back. I also said I would rearrange my trip if they brought the red-eye back one or two nights a week.

You can of course cancel your CC but remember the airline, as always, guarantees carriage not the time of carriage. To get a CC simply based on flight times seems very strange logic when finances are involved; but that's just me LOL

The Redeye does start back up in November apparently. Airlines change their schedules all the time. They have stopped it before and then brought it back. I know when we went back in Aug 2009, they didn't have the redeye then and had replaced it with a flight leaving SEA at 1:30 pm which we liked as we could drive down the same day. I didn't like arriving late at night though, and I think I do prefer the AM flight overall.

Alaska Airlines has had a lot of changes lately as they have focused more on Hawaii, and had more flghts our of Bellingham - which I think is great:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know they can change flights, but I didn't think that once they released them they would just cancel it completely and not offer any other flights. Now the prices have increased again since applying for the Credit Card and the other flight only has 4 seats left at $198, the other two flights which have layovers are even more $.

I will have to wait and see what AirTran and Southwest have available when they release the dates as it most likely will be cheaper to fly with them.

That sucks if they have as that was our plan to take the Clipper to Seattle and then take the redeye 10:30pm (ish). Hopefully they don't cancel this flight for good we need a nonstop for Feb/March 2012

Yeah...LOVE LOVE Hawaii ...And the Alaska Air flight to Hawaii is fabulous. They offer passengers a mai tai just before landing.

Getting back to the SEA-MCO flight, I'm just happy they offer the non-stop flight. I'll take any flight time they have, just as long as it's non-stop. I'd only complain if they ever discontinued this service.

I agree:thumbsup2. The non-stop makes the drive down to SEA worthwhile.

Non stop and a third of the price per ticket of flying out of yvr makes it a no brainer for us.

Just a hint, we are a family of 6. We are spending the night prior at the doubletree as it has a suite big enough for us. The night stay and 14 days parking while we are gone is........get this, $236.

Good for you! That's a great deal and the Doubletree is a nice hotel:thumbsup2
